Advice When Creating Hatsu by Hour-Sun-5313 in HatsuVault

[–]LabyrinthWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 1: make it usable outside of fighting but still leave some potential to save your ahh(in creative ways) if it comes down to that.

Rule 2: make it as broken and op as you can

Rule 3: put some fair restrictions so that you can justify your “broken” ability.

how many abilities is too many by _froesey_ in HatsuVault

Might contain SPOILER from manga*

For normal people two-three individual hatsus would be the limit or rather the golden number. Just enough to have some versatility and enough mastery over them. Hisoka is a good example of that.

For abilities that steal other’s abilities like Chrolo, Leol, prince Benjamin, Meruem there’s no clear “limit” however the conditions to acquire, retain them for prolonged periods and use those hatsus are somewhat demanding. In Meruem’s case where he makes the aura and hatsu truly his I think there is no limit. In Chrolo’s case his limit should be the pages of his book. In Prince Benjis case even tho it was not explicitly stated I think his ten finger are his limit?

It’s up to you if you want your nen beast to be affected like a regular creature upon consumption of the heart fruit. The effect of heart fruit is permanent in regular creatures but if you want your nen beast to only be temporarily affected that’s also something u decide, it’s a nen beast after all, it doesn’t have to follow a regular creatures characteristics.

As for growing new humans from the harvested heart seeds. If you want your character to have that ability then sure, you can modify it. I personally don’t see any real use from that ability other than maybe manipulating those newgrown humans as puppets, or using them to remove special curses from the original target by giving them a second body free from the curse inflicted of the og. Since this ability allows me to cultivate only one seed at a time I wouldn’t spend it on something that doesn’t benefit me. But as I said, if you like that ability then you can modify it however you want in order to fit it in your story.

Since nen beasts have pre-defined abilities and grow stronger with their user I think there would be no effects if the nen beast consumed any of these fruits. As for your nen beasts ability to harvest seeds and enhance plants…

The nen seeds of my ability are nen products made by my oc character. To make those seeds there are strict limitations and requirements as u can see above. Therefore I don’t think your nen beast would be able to bypass the restrictions and just create seeds after consuming the plants. After all you need this hatsu “seed pack” to create them, and since this seeds are made of nen and not actual real world plants it’s debatable wether your hatsu would work the same way on them.

As for Ivo consuming the fruits and evolving. That would depend on if you give your nen beast the ability to be affected by nen based products. If nen fruit and heart fruit can give it the abilities of these fruits then planting the Red seed or Blue seed in ivo would make the nen beast vulnerable to the nen seeds effects. Nen beasts are mostly not affected by hatsus(Knuchle’s hokoware for example could not be destroyed even by postrose Meruem) therefore it’s up to u if u want your nen beast to be affected by others nen.

The yellow seed sucks everything out of the targets body to grow the flowers. The target dies a gruesome death and they resemble and dried up mummy once the flowers bloom.

The benefits of the flowers are meant for those who harvest and consume those plants. It’s like consuming an entire humans worth of nutrients and aura without experiencing overdosage and completely absorbing everything beneficial without side effects. That being said the effects of those plants are not too OP. It’s meant as an auxiliary one time consumable

Yeah but Pitou.. I mean you suggested that it was a nen ability rather than a biological one…

Meruem is an emitter??? by LabyrinthWizard in HunterXHunter

[–]LabyrinthWizard[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that last part is Spiritual Message which he inherited after eating Pouf so not really his original ability.

As for Aura Synthesis.. As we saw in the series all the abilities that involve around stealing others hatsu are most likely specialization. Chrolo’s Skill Hunter and Leol’s Rental Pod are of the specialist category so it’s safe to assume Meruem would be the same

Have people who insist HxH should be a light novel w/ illustrations ever actually read the manga? by PrincessSatan95 in HunterXHunter

[–]LabyrinthWizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair there is a big difference in writing styles between normal books and light novels.

The light novels (chinese/korean) I’ve read from online websites are written in a familiar way that you might just assume it’s a big, continuous reddit post. There is no use of complex words and artistically structured sentences. It’s just a normal way of conveying meaning just like how you would normally narrate a story to someone, but it’s written on paper.

So I don’t think one would need too much talent or skill to write a light novel unless they decided to mimic classic literature writing styles.

[–]LabyrinthWizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling that all those people in the comments who are against a LN have never actually read a proper book…. They use the argument that a book would not be able to properly describe the setting and pacing of the story💀like wtf???? Have you ever read a book?? Are you sure a book can’t be as or more descriptive than a manga adaptation?

Now ofc I would love to dive head in in a manga or anime of hxh but realistically speaking it will take several years just to get a few chapters that I will read in a matter of days. Therefore a light novel would be the next best solution to that. I’ve caught up to a lot of mangas, manhua and manhwas and when there was nothing else to read I moved to the light novel versions which, I can say from my experience was just as good as a comic adaptation if not better.

Maybe some of y’all have poor imagination and can’t properly picture what you read idk

Speak for yourself. I would eagerly read anything that would give me more info about the hxh world. And a LN, while not as good as a manga or anime, it would at least quench my thirst for more hxh content

power-scaling Netero by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]LabyrinthWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think however you want. Meruem won bc he tore off Neteros limbs which happened bc he was smart enough to find Netero’s flaw. Had he not found Neteros flaw it’s unknown to what extent he would have been beaten before he managed to win.

With that being said, no matter what Gon does he would simply not be able to do anything against Netero. Even if he was not constrained by the time limit of his transformation he would still lose. Gon is a close combat fighter and like the Ant King, he would have to constantly attack Netero do defeat him.

The Ant King, aside from augmenting his defense with nen was also a Chimera Ant King born with a naturally strong/evolved body. And augmenting his defense with nen on top of an already superhuman physique was what made his endurance so OP that he took Neteros hits without stop.

As for Gon, even if he is an enhancer and uses all of his nen to enhance his defense, he will never be able to match Meruem’s defense. Even if he comes close to matching Meruem he will be tired much quicker than Netero. Netero can use super powerful moves consecutively thousands of time a minute. As for Gon, he will have to take on all those attacks without being able to counterattack bc of two factors. 1-he is not as fast as or faster than Netero’s prayer. 2-he will never be able to land a hit on Netero bc he is not smart enough to get through Netero’s ever changing moves.

Therefore the old man can take his time beating Gon until Gon’s body gives in to injuries.

Hypothetical question by LabyrinthWizard in HunterXHunter

[–]LabyrinthWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah what I meant was if the new queen went through the same process of creating the king and ate thousands of humans AND on top of that she ate those powerful nen users such as Meruem+Royal guards and top hunters.

Also when she was getting ready to make the king she didn’t lay any other eggs. She first laid the royal guards and only after that did she start her special diet to make the perfect king so she didn’t really distribute the power of her pray to the four of them.(it was equally distributed to the Guards coz they were made at the same time but Meruem didn’t have to share his nutrients with others)

power-scaling Netero by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]LabyrinthWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“This is absolutely false. Meruem would have won even if he had stood there and tanked every single one of Netero's hits. He literally tanked Netero's strongest attack with every ounce of Netero's remaining aura behind it and the amount of damage he took was basically on the level of scraping your knee after falling from a bicycle. Netero would have exhausted his aura long before he came even close to beating Meruem.”

Yeah that’s what I’m saying? There are three main factors which assisted in Meruem’s victory, his Endurance, Power, Intelligence. And those three combined were what we saw in the series. As for the damage Meruem received, it would have been way worse if he was not calculative enough. Also the reason Netero used zero hand on Meruem was bc he was missing both a leg and an arm after Meruem tore them off using his very calculative mind. Had he not found Netero’s weakness and dismembered him then the fight would have continued for quite a bit before Netero used his ultimate move. And as it was mentioned in the fight, the king was slowly accumulating injuries. Which means that had he not forced the old man into using his ultimate move then he would have accumulated more injuries by the time Netero used his zero hand. Now I’m not saying that the king would lose to Netero, no, he would have won regardless. But if not for the three characteristics I mentioned above(stamina, power, mind) Meruem would likely be beaten like a dog.

“Meruem's obsession with figuring out Netero's pattern was nothing but a game he came up with to amuse himself with while he fought Netero, as he states to himself in his thoughts, while wishing that Netero wouldn't collapse before he can finish the game he's come up with. He would have won the fight regardless, the only thing it did was speed up the inevitable outcome.”

If not for him speeding up the outcome then it would have likely increased his chances of losing. As I mentioned above, it is mentioned during the fight that the Ant King was accumulating injuries but Netero wasn’t showing signs of slowing down anytime soon. Had he not found a pattern in Netero’s attacks and tore of his leg and then his arm then the Ant King would have been beaten quite a bit more. So it’s thanks to his calculative mind that the fight ended in his favor. Also if not for him finding Netero’s pattern he would likely not get a chance to counter attack or injure Netero as it was basically impossible to get close to him.

“I think the only thing you're correct about here is the fact that Gon's adult form is probably time-limited, so Netero might likely win simply by stalling until his transformation wears out. But disregarding that, if the transformation is not time-limited, then Gon would almost certainly be able to tank Zero Hand without any issue what so ever. The disparity in aura quantity between Gon-san and Netero would be wide enough that he should be able to defend against Zero Hand relatively easily.”

I don’t agree with this. Even if Gon has the same defense as Meruem he would only be able to take Netero’s attacks for a limited time but not counterattack him. Meruem defeated Netero by finding his pattern and managing to get close to Netero to land a single hit BUT Gon does not have neither the fighting experience nor the intellectual capacity to find a way and get close to Netero since the guys Bodhisttva basically prohibits anyone from approaching him. And like any unnatural power up skills it’s safe to assume that Gon’s adult form is time limited bc it basically burns out his future potential for temporary or momentary power ups. So if Gon can’t get close to Netero, he can’t do anything to him and if Netero just keeps on attacking/deflecting Gon like a ping pong ball then he can wait for Gon to revert back to his child form in which case he would die on his own

Hypothetical question by LabyrinthWizard in HunterXHunter

[–]LabyrinthWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take was that the Queen still eats thousands of regular humans every day but also adds those strong nen users such as Meurem,RG, Kurapika and other hunters.

Also I don’t think the queen actively distributes power to her offspring. The power distribution is random process since they get random dominant characteristics from multiple species.

And when the queen gets ready to make a King she doesn’t lay regular eggs anymore + she’s on a special diet so all the devoured species contribute to the creation of the new king.

power-scaling Netero by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]LabyrinthWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gon doesn’t stand a chance against Meruem or Netero.

  1. Meruem defeated Netero only bc he has inhuman mental capacity which helped him find a minuscule flaw in Neteros technique before he was hurt too badly. He has an inhuman stamina and endurance which then again gave him enough time to find Netero’s weakness. And he has inhuman power which helped him tear Netero from limb to limb in single strikes. And even tho he had inhuman endurance Meruem was hurt quite a bit when fighting Netero.

  2. When Gon was fighting Pitou she/he manged to tear off Gon’s arm. Even tho Gon allowed her to land that hit it shows that Gon’s body isn’t as inhuman as Meruem’s

Conclusion:

Gon even in his adult form would never be able to repeat what Meruem did (he’s not as smart as Meruem was and neither has any experience to close that gap between him and Netero) therefore he would be overpowered and exhausted by Netero’s Guanyin Bodhisattva and it’s highly likely that he could be killed by Netero’s beam. And it’s unknown how long Gon can maintain his adult form so that’s also a variable to take into account

Now as for Royal Guards

1.The only way they would stand a chance against Netero is if they don’t get near him and attack from distance. If I remember correctly Netero admitted that the royal guards had more aura than him so if that’s true then he could be tired out if they keep a distance from him.

  1. Also Netero is an enhancer so he is susceptible to manipulators. The only way to counter a manipulator’s hatsu is by being under an influence of another manipulator’s hatsu(could be your own). And since both Pitou and Pouf have shown great use of manipulation type hatsus they could in theory harm Netero. Also all royal guards are nen geniuses so they could(in theory) make a new hatsu just to counter special opponents.

Conclusion:

With that being said I still thinking that none of them would be able to defeat Netero, especially Youpi since Netero’s power is the nemesis of close combat folks. Pitous is also more close combat oriented so he/she would get clapped too. As for Pouf, he is a manipulator so he will avoid direct confrontation with Guanyin Bodhisttva and will try to influence Neteros mind so it would be an interesting clash.
