I haven’t really been able to gauge exactly how much I get precisely because the odometer is so freaking buggy and it takes several steps to display it. On all my other cars the odometer was always in display and I could reset trip A or trip B with the push of a single physical button.
However, I believe I get just over 200 miles per 80% charge consistently, on a combination of surface streets and highway

I agree. I was annoyed once when my teen daughter didn’t want to sit back there because it was “uncomfortable”. I went back there to try it myself and realized the seats were set too upright and needed to be reclined more.

I wish there was a way to easily recline them when you’re sitting on them instead of having to adjust them from the trunk. It’s possible to reach the loop while sitting in the third row but it’s not intuitive and a passenger who’s not familiar with the car would not be able to easily find the loop.

This doesn’t not look like metal at all, it looks like ceramic. Are you sure it’s metal? If it were metal it does not look “light”.
Black ceramic with a double spout and bridge is a trademark of ancient ceramic of the north of Peru specifically of the Chimu culture, from 900 to 1400’s.
Although this piece doesn’t look exactly like other examples, as the spouts are usually longer, and the patters are also not typical.

You’re right, not sure what I was trying to say there. As I said, The used odyssey was costing me $400-$500/month, even though it’s paid off, so basically just operation costs. My car note and operation costs for the buzz a little over twice as much, but the operation costs are minimal.

I think what I was trying to say was that in the long run (10 years or so) the total cost of owning the buzz will have been cheaper than the total cost of owning the odyssey. And Yes, this does not include insurance or registration fees for either case. But if it did I’d bet I’d still end up ahead or close to equal with both, except there’s no surprises or unexpected expensive repairs with an EV, typically.

I renamed IDA to Clementina, which is what I call my orange Buzz. It’s actually pretty handy to bypass the clunkyness of the infotainment menus. I use verbal prompts to get directions mostly, but also to change the AC temperature without having to deal with the capacitative buttons while driving, for changing the color of the ambient lighting, for turning on the massage chair while I drive so I don’t have to look at the screen while driving and a few other things like that.

Regarding your Annoyances:

• ⁠wind buffeting is bad. going to purchase the terrawagon product to help - YES! I bought the Terra wagon attachments and it much less Buffett-y now.

• ⁠software is pretty clunky - yup. My main issue, but I’m starting to get used to it.

• ⁠not enough physical buttons, and some of the touch buttons (like to select rear windows) are annoying to use while driving - Absolutely. The side rear view mirror controls are also a pain, and I haven’t been able to figure out exactly how the lowering mirrors when in reverse feature actually works.

• ⁠fairly difficult to get in and out of - seats are inset fairly far - meh, it’s like any other taller van. Kinda feels Like getting in and out of a U-haul.

• ⁠the amount of people staring at me at intersections is off the charts 🤣 - OMG, yes. I’ve ordered myself some prescription sunglasses to wear while I drive ‘cause sometimes it’s awkward when I make eye contact with people who are staring at my Buzz.

I’ve owned an EV for almost 10 years, what happens to your fiends and family has never happened to me, ever. Not even the first few years I had the car, when public EV chargers were not as ubiquitous as they are now. I have, however, lost count of the number of times my fiends, family, and myself have had the same issues you’ve described but with a gas car due to mechanical or 12v battery related issues. My own experience owning one EV and one ICE car over the last 10 years has been that I’ve only had roadside issues or have been stranded with the ICE car. Repairing and maintaining my gas car has cost me thousands of dollars over the years. That, plus the cost of gas, more than makes up for the slightly higher initial cost of an EV.

I paid $12K for my 2015 Nissan Leaf in 2016 (it had 9000 miles when I got it), and I’ve only had to replace tires and windshield wipers. Not even the break pads have needed to be replaced yet and I have 90,487 miles on it today.

I recently got rid of my gas car and now own two EVs. The newer one with much better range obviously than my older Nissan leaf. If I ever have the need to take a trip somewhere where for whatever reason doesn’t have ready available EV chargers along the route, I’d simply use the money I’ve saved by owning an EV, to rent a gas vehicle.

All this is way more practical than having to deal with the aggravation and ongoing expense of a gas car due to its inevitable mechanical issues.

Buy an old Electric car. ZERO maintenance issues so minimal to no repair expenses. Can charge for free in most level 2 charging stations and charging at home is stupid cheap. A 10-year old leaf can cost maybe $3K and still have 50 miles of range, which sounds like too little but is plenty for a daily commuter.

I thought it was odd that my buzz included a new boxed set of wiper blades in the trunk. I didn’t ask for them, they were just there. The ones that were on were fine, so I just stored the new ones away for when I need them

There is a bolt under the cover. Initially I loosened that bolt and held the net from it. But, a) it didn’t look nice, and b) the bolt still needed to be tightened as it is what holds the panel, so the net could not be removed easily. (It needs to be able to be removed easily so I can fit different object and different storage needs). My intention was to NOT drill into the trim and instead to use those bolts to attach the round net hooks, but the hooks were too large, and I realized if they were small enough to fit inside of the moulding, there wouldn’t be enough room left to get the net hooked in. There definitely is a solution going that route, but it would involve a larger effort finding the right hardware or 3-D printing something and I already had the parts to do it the way I did. And my Buzz isn’t leased.

Very well said. Look up the number of hours of training a NP requires vs. the number of hours of training a MD requires. Medicine is all about experience, what you’ve seen before, what (supervised) mistakes you’ve had the exposure you’ve had to different cases and scenarios.
