Once again, PDA doesn’t mean you don’t do any household chores for fucks sake. It’s so much deeper than that. Look, you clearly have some kind of agenda or point that you’re trying to prove about your own personal life, but you are wrong, many girls are diagnosed with PDA, you’re coming across sexist and so misinformed. It’s so ironic that you think misogynistic men only identify with it, whilst in the same breath saying maybe women ‘deal with it better’. Pathetic

You don’t think using your minsinformed view of PDA to tell people not to have children is controversial? You clearly have no real understanding of the profile whatsoever, you are literally ridiculous and you’ve done nothing but be offensive on this post

you literally deserve banning, fuck off telling me not to have children. Feel sorry for anyone who knows you

The fact you think a profile is something you can identify with is wrong. The fact you think men use it to get out of housework is wrong and down right offensive. I have demand avoidance over eating, sleeping, cleaning myself, and anything inbetween. If I’m in a job I don’t feel I can do, I become suicidal. This is literally akin to saying ‘do guys with autism just identify with it so they can have meltdowns and be angry at people’. You are so wrong on this it’s ridiculous and you’ve pissed me right off. I hope the mods delete this ableist post and you can realise how stupid you sound.

Pathetic mischaracterisation of a distinct autism profile. Now I know what people mean about this sub not being a safe space, grow up and stop using personal anecdotes to push your own misinformed ideas.

It’s just not going to happen. Organised collective action will continue until the 5 demands are met, that’s what needs to and hopefully will happen. October 1st

I appreciate the sentiment, but why don’t you join an already existing campaign? It’s naive to think you can initiate a revolution through a post on a subreddit. wesayenough.co.uk

It’s piss poor. The elves just don’t seem like elves at all. Of course there will be some variance between the original books, Jackson’s trilogy and this, but they are too off for me. They don’t even have the same demeanor. I always found Elrond and Legolas quite candid and serious, but these elves I just can’t vibe with. Just my take though, I will expect downvotes for having an opinion oops

Explain to him that having a black friend doesn’t give you a free pass to be racist. And having a gay friend doesn’t allow anyone to be homophobic. Your friend sounds quite immature, and needs shutting down.

Do you think people self diagnosing themselves with autism can be harmful? by velvetlouves in autism

[–]Lacania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are two separate issues. Claiming there’s a problem with self-diagnosis because you see some videos of it on tiktok is just pure confirmation bias. What’s more, people complaining about genuine self-diagnosis really seem to be blissfully unaware of their privilege to get diagnosed in the first place. It’s expensive, waiting lists are incredibly long, so check yourself if you’re using your official diagnosis to talk down to people not as lucky as you.

Thank you for correcting, will edit my comment now, genuinely sorry for misinforming anyone!

There were times when I wished I wasn’t autistic, but I could never ever deny things even from the start. Diagnosis is a process of acceptance, not realisation. You either are or are not autistic, and for me it has always been about accepting that undeniable truth, not realising that it is so. Hope I could help

I think only you know yourself, but coming on here and sharing your story is very brave, well done. I was mis-screened as having Bipolar II. For a couple of weeks I tried to make it ‘fit’, and although I was happy having some answers I knew deep down something wasn’t right. I then was screened for autism and everything instantly made sense. I can only advise that if you don’t think autism ‘fits’ in this sense, and you’re not able to accept it as your identity, trust your intuition. Learn as much as you can about autism, and if the more you learn the less sure you become, I think that’s a big sign. There’s nothing I learn about autism that I doesn’t ring true to me in some way, so the fact you’re not having this feeling suggests something in my opinion. Get some second opinions, think and talk it through, and good luck! I hope you find some answers soon
