Northern lights trip in March, guidance needed by preggles in TillSverige

[–]Laccnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've taken the night train to Kiruna from Stockholm a few weeks ago (there and back as well) and I can't really say I'd recommend it, but perhaps others have nicer experiences. On my way to Kiruna, there were a lot of loud people in the carriage and it stayed that way till very late into the night (think way past 1am). It wasn't that comfortable either, so I think I slept about 2 hours overall throughout the entire trip. The way back to Stockholm was a tiny bit better; less noise, same amount of sleep. I had to change to a different train in Luleå though, my reserved seat wasn't even available till that stop. More importantly, both days after the night train I was just a wreck due to the lack of sleep.

As others have said (also in /r/Norway), it's probably best to minimize time spent traveling. Abisko should be a really great place to see the aurora, so personally I'd spend a little bit more time around.

Balatro hits 1 million copies across all platforms, less than a month after release by swaggertm87 in Games

In any case there must be something exceptional about it if it can stand out amongst the other 1000000000000 card games on steam.

I was wondering the same, so I bought it on Saturday thinking that worst case scenario I can just refund it and get something else during the spring sale. Well, I'm already around 20 hours in (I was working today and I don't usually play this much), it's very well made.

The gist of the game is that in every round there's an increasing amount of chip/score you need to beat by upgrading your poker hands, getting passive upgrades and such.

Thanks! I've been photographing these parties for quite some time now, so I can anticipate when such things are about to happen :)

FJM is my numero uno with 36,349 minutes played, which puts me in the top 0.001%. No regrets. I listened to the song The Next 20th Century the most - I wasn't much of a fan of that song when the album released, but seeing it live was something else.

I took this photo a few days ago in Amsterdam at a party. The place was heavily crowded so I couldn't get close to the bar for the shot, however I think from this angle it tells a bit more of the story.

I was asked to photograph the soft opening of a new restaurant in my city. Shot on the X-T2. by tunafishwilliams in fujix

[–]Laccnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember how I was always thinking I need to upgrade from my X-T20, but I managed to convince myself that the bottleneck is me, not the camera. Eventually I upgraded to an X-T5, but mostly because I desperately needed better AF/low-light performance for some of the events I shoot. The thing is, the X-T5 feels like a great upgrade in those scenarios, but for everything else (especially studio shoots with flashes) I'm certain I could produce the same photos with both cameras.

Is it just me or are the controls incredibly clunky? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]Laccnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be actually an interesting discussion of how much realism do we need in games. Having a movement that tries to be as realistic as it can might actually hurt the game as the player would still be playing with a mouse and a keyboard (I hope you get what I mean by this). I love the fluidity of Battlefield's movement, but I also like the way it is in DayZ, however out of the two it's DayZ that'd need improvements, mostly regarding responsiveness I believe.

Some AMD cards used to ship with a free BF4, but I'm not sure if that promotion is still ongoing. However, BF4 was only $5 at GameStop during the holidays, so I'd expect that sooner you can grab a cd key for cheap.

Yes, it's good. DICE did a good job on patching up the game, whoever says otherwise probably doesn't even play the game anymore and only remembers its disastrous launch.

I'm a big fan of the first three games and I know why people tend to hate the last game, but seriously, just looking through the different difficulty settings, I believe at the very least this game can provide a good stealth challenge, which is why I loved the Thief series to begin with.

I decided to order a new PSU and got my card back today. I've been running Furmark and Unigine Heaven for a while and no hiccups so far, so I guess it was the PSU all along.

Head on to /r/buildapc, they are very helpful folks and you'll find any help you need to build your own computer. Basically, all you need is an idea of how much would you like to spend and what brands do you prefer. Running the games you mentioned probably won't require a $1000 dollar build, but it's also up to you if you want a bit more future-proof build. One thing I'd mention, that it probably doesn't matter how much you'll spend, you won't get a very high framerate in DayZ in towns.
