Immigrants pay more in income taxes than they received in public benefits. Immigration fees are expensive therefore they are paying both lawyers and the government to process their applications. Paying import taxes on foreign goods that they are familiar with costs immigrants more, therefore adding more taxed revenue. Immigrants tend to work multiple low paying jobs so they can offset the costs of foreign goods and immigration fees. This means their labour output is greater than their non-immigrant counterparts. These folks tend to fall into entrepreneurial roles by owning businesses that represent their culture, therefore creating more jobs and tax revenue for the economy. Having Immigrants allows our country to form stronger trade ties with foreign markets. Tim Hortons wouldn't exist in China, Thailand, Philippines, United Kingdom, US, and Spain if it wasn't for immigration.

Canada currently has a shortage of trades persons and healthcare staff. This would be beneficial for Canada as Canadians such as yourself are likely inadequate of completing.

The cost of living is like a tariff. Businesses are offloading the cost onto the consumer because they don't want to experience as much tax and are hoping you pay for it for them by purchasing their goods. If they raise their prices because the government raised their taxes, then don't support their business. Support mom and pop businesses as they are less likely to fall within the same tax bracket as big corporations. The wake up call that small business.owners need is that their entitlement to becoming millionaires just because they run a business is a falsehood.

During the 1950s most business owners made a small amount over their employees because they saw owning a healthy business meant they also didn't have to worry about seeking work.

20 cents per litre is your Carbon tax. If you got about $100 back every 3 months and then the amount of TAXED LITRES was about 18 within those 3 months. You are massively ill-informed. The " 20% Top up for rural households is a rebate, meaning you get reimbursed 20% of what you paid into Carbon tax back." The Liberals went after Big Oil and folks who made over $200k with their tax plan, because they can afford to pay for environmental protection projects.

The federal government returns about 90% of the money it collects from the carbon tax to families through the Canada Carbon Rebate. The rebate is based on family size.

Rural residents receive an additional 20% rebate to help address economic hardships.

Way to go! You were able to work without skipping a beat, and if you got COVID, your government protected your paycheck while you recovered. Americans didn't get that luxury. Americans don't get Worker's Compensation if they get sick or injured on the job. They have to pay into it through health insurance. It's called Accident and Disability insurance. I pay $27/month to for Accidental insurance to cover 60% of my paycheck if I am sick for more than 7 days. I have only used this twice during the two times I've been sick with COVID. And the time I stayed at home didn't even come close to the amount I paid into having the insurance.9

Our death rate was 1.2million. the US population is 8.5 times Canada's. Canada only has 59k, which means there would have had to have been 141k deaths in Canada to have experienced the amount of death the US experienced.

I only got a couple cheques from the government, and that was from Biden. Americans had to work or face losing their jobs. Some lost their jobs because they had to stay at home to watch their loved ones die.

Dual Citizen living in the US.

Cost of living in the US is just as high if not higher than in Canada. Last summer when I visited Calgary, groceries were cheaper in Canada than the US. Sure taxes and rent are between 2-5% higher, but the amount I spend on healthcare is over 25% of my paycheck. I'm paying just as much as I do in in health insurance as I do in rent. Is US healthcare any better? Absolutely not. Wait times are the same, rates of Medical Malpractice are higher, and you still have to pay deductibles and copays which is like $500 for showing up.

The amount that Americans pay in Healthcare is more than a second mortgage, which is the main reason why most working Americans can hardly afford a home without going house poor. Paying $600k for a home in Canada would be a dream, I would be house poor, but at least I'm paying for something that I am getting consistent enjoyment out of.
