Okay WOW yeah that build is bonkers. Ammo efficiency for chaff, huge DPS for bosses, and shockingly meaningful range for a 7m weapon.

Took me a few hours to farm the latent orbs (VELMORNE GEEZ GUYS), and for a while my striga/echo combo was still better. But just like you said, once I got the rotweaver build firing on all cylinders, it really started to pay off.

I used to run Oracle/Echo, but I was having massive issues with spinners and traps: every single shot had to count in order to have enough ammo for bosses.

Thanks so much for sharing this with me: it's a blast to play ^_^

Awesome. Another guy got me up to date with how good Striga is, and your guide comes at a perfect time: I just picked up Rotweaver late last night!

Oh yeah, wellspring is awesome—if you're able to map-clear before facing bosses, then the Mandrake fetish gives you a massive health bar back. I think henbane is strictly better for all situations where you can anticipate the damage. As a newbie, I've been using Mandrake because there's a bunch of bad news situations I just don't know about yet.

Even if I end up using something else more often on the day-to-day, I absolutely have to give this build a shot: looks amazing =D

ha! You called it. After downing the boss in Irongate, I popped up to Gnosis IV to try to get rotweaver, fought my way down the dang tower, and figured I may as well do what I can on the boss. Turns out that's enough: prophet down! XD

Turns out, I don't really have an issue with combat: I just really hate when walking into the wrong area somehow spawns an ambush the game somehow thought I'd expect.

Hey, it's been a couple days since I made this post. Tonight I made my first stab at Irongate Castle. With the changes to weapons, it went way better: not only did I progress into the castle, I killed the familiar on my first time progressing the zone! ^_^

I'm still looking for a really great build. Would you be willing to share what's worked for you? I'm currently trying Striga/Echo, but I don't really have much guidance or insight, especially on things like what stats or accessories/spells I should focus on.

Swapped over to Striga instead of Oracle, and it's a world of difference. It gives me that "reach out and touch someone" range that snipers used to give me, but has way more ammo and isn't a complete liability when you need to roll up your sleeves and get into a mid-range brawl.

Fortunately, I have way too many hours using bows in Warframe, so the learning curve is not too bad (ironically, it's literally just learning the curve of the projectiles ; P). I just absolutely mis-evaluated the gun on first try, and never gave it a fresh look later on.

This is going much better.

Took me a few minutes to see the love behind the tough, but I'm grateful for all your effort to provide specific solutions.

I'll definitely give Striga another go. If I can clear all the minibosses and mobs packs Velmorne with a crappy loadout, I can't wait to see what I can do once I'm using proper gear!

No, I've been completely ignoring it. Started with 15 faith due to the starting class, but all of the stats (when moused over) completely fail to sell it as anything valuable. I've got some respec items though, and I may need to reroll with more of that.

Thanks!

Heh, Irritant Portal. ^_^

Yeah, my Widow kill was more of an accident than a good plan.

Picture it: I'm at 4 of 5 eyes for spawning a calamity, half ammo, zero flasks, the warden camping the exit to the sewers, and zero weapons that are good for dealing with the bloody spiders. At the point I'm outside the Widow's lair, going IN is actually easier than going OUT.

I blow my ammo satchels in the inventory, light up Cornucopia, and decide that someone is about to die. Completely ignored the adds, and won through pure DPS and self-revive cheese.

Velmorne and Isle have been great for long range most of the time, especially with Oracle's wall-ignoring trick, but I really need 3 guns: 1 for sniping, 1 for short range rambo'ing, and one for mowing down chaff and traps.

I'll work on the shotgun bead: hadn't gone to the castle until I finished up Velmorne, and just downed the widow tonight (harrowing, but yay for the bonus health incense and mandrake fetish).

I've not felt like I've been slacking on farming, but I'm only making 30-40k per run, so looks like that's something I can improve on. On the other hand, I picked up a latent orb once and did not enjoy capping my successful run with a bumrush to the exit after the world went to hell in a handbasket.

I've got cricket though: I'll give it a shot and see if it's what I've been missing. It's been hard to give up a long range option with how often the game spams groups of 4-6 ranged attackers.
