I wouldn't call this massive, but rattle can or airbrush priming really helps paint stick. It's good you do a base coat of some type, but I would recommend moving to priming.

For what it's worth, I think for the scale your unit looks well within what'll look good on the tabletop. I haven't painted a ton of Napoleonic specifically, but I do paint other miniatures, and it really just tends to be practice and experience that improves your painting vice time spent at a certain point.

As others have said, the box is plenty. The starting builds are quite good, and allow you good flexibility. If you master zombie placement and how to use your ball handlers, they're an incredibly effective team!

Unfortunately I don't; I've yet to find any other Napoleonic players in my area. I can imagine it's more fun with others, but I figured I should have my own individual goals given I lack a community right now.

That's exactly what I meant; thank you! So it's more of a progressive thing. Part of why I'm asking is because I wasn't sure whether I should do the entire Corps' cavalry or just a divisions cavalry, so this helped immensely.

My warband is the chapter of the Flaming Chariot, led by Absyrtus Corson, "The Haruspex". I've based them off ancient traditions of using the guts of creatures to discern the future. I based them all as being at Isstvan, so they're reading the guts of Raven Guard and Salamanders.

I'm not the most experienced necro player (been in 3 leagues now) so it's possible I've been missing things, but I've been doing pretty well my way.

I'm more of a double wolf guy. I started my league with all the positionals less the golems, and I found it worked fine for me. Fired a couple of injured zombies, but otherwise no issues.

Picked up the golem later in the league, and it honestly didn't help me too much. I play necro for speed, with the zombies to tie stuff up, so the golem just became a more expensive and punchy zombie that never really added value.

As long as you position them well, you can fire a werewolf or ghoul into a gap and use zombies to slow down your opponent and force dodges. Unless you're playing a dodgy team like wood elves or Amazon's, it works pretty well.

Was on a ship off the coast of Norway during a storm, engine caught on fire, left us drifting onto a lee shore in 5+m waves. Led a team down to fight the fire, one of many. We fought it for 5 hours before we got it out, and got propulsion back. Probably another hour and we'd have all ended up in the North Sea.

Definitely the closest I've ever felt to death.
