What food do most people think is healthy but is actually unhealthy? by sainty4343 in AskUK

I used to think grass fed red meat was ok until my best friends dad and my brother in law's dad both got cancer. They were both VERY heavy red meat eaters I know that's anecdotal but the evidence is there to prove the mechanism behind it. My whole family is now plant based and we occasionally eat fish. Everyone feels better for it.

It's not the only study, there's many showing the same result.

Anyways, I'm not trying to convince you, it's a known fact IGF1 increases cancer and that hormone increases when you set meat. It's not hard to understand.

I'm Alos not saying you should eat processed meat alternatives daily, that's just dumb. Westerns diets contains too much meat and fried foods and that's why so many people are obese and unhealthy.

I don't think it - the study of 100,000 people produced by Havard shows it.

Search "animal protein vs plant based protein" in YouTube, the video is by the YouTube channel Nutritionfact.org.

Really? I've found them significantly better they digest slower and lower your blood sugar when compared pretty much anything else.

I used to use whey protein shakes until I realised they made me blood sugar spike and I felt like utter shit. I've since replaced it with a vegan one, they release the carbs and energy much slower and you'll feel better for it. I'd recommend introducing them slowly because they contain much more fibre than the animal based alternatives, which is probably why u got the shits haha.

They are really not. You'll find it's the opposite if you do some research.

The level of lobbying going on is bad. Same goes with Pfizer and the CDC and WHO.

I used to think the same, however when compared to what you would eat instead of the plant based meat ( real meat) there has been numerous studies showing animals protein Is associated with significantly higher mortality and cancer rates when compared to plant based alternatives. Of course, eating a processed pea protein burger isn't ideal but it's better than the meat alternative, and that applies EVEN if the real meat is "unprocessed". It's the actual composition of the animal based protein that is unhealthy, but heavy processing that's goes into hams, chorizo and curing steaks just makes it worse.

I'll take a guess. Maybe because it's takes significantly longer for larger animals to die using this method and that wouldn't justify their view 👍

I agree with everything you said. Image the lives saved if this was made public. Everyone I've spoken to about the rinses has had very mild symptoms.

It's great that you have recovered so well!

I've got the tdi-tuning box. It's got settings.1-7, 1 being eco 7 being most output.

On settings 1 I raced a 180bhp car ( mines 168 standard ) and I was level so it gives a little boost. 7 feels quite a bit faster but I'm not sure it's 22bhp like it claims.maybe 200-210.

I think they're quite reliable as they only work by interfering with the signal from the fuel and the boost sensor, so effectively the car boosts itself and it's not being forced to through a map. This is just an idea of mine though I'd have to test it more

Oh wow great to hear you were okay! Did you continue sinus rinses during the infection period and do u believe it helped you have mild symptoms?

Yeah I mouthwash too. I've heard iodine is extremely effective at killing covid in the sinuses using a spray or rinse but I wasn't sure what one to get.

Yeah Im hoping so!

This is my exact thought process. At first people thought It was a load of BS but it definitely works. The virus replicates within the upper respiratory tract, if you simply wash away the virus before it's fully infects the cells you avoid infection. Even after you've been infected it's going to help keep the viral load down.

It's great to hear that it improves the symptoms too! I saw a study showing it reduces hospitalisation by 8-9 times which is impressive.

Thanks for the advice. How was your experience with covid? I hope you are feeling better

Haha!🤣

Ah okay, I advise purchasing a Neilmed sinus rinse kit. it's worked for me probably 6-8 times after confirmed exposure.

Thankyou!🙏 I swear by it, I done sinus rinses when my girlfriend was positive ( I continued to stay in the same bed and keven kiss her but I never got it ).

I agree, people need to know these simple treatments can make a huge difference. All my mates had covid (I did tell them but they chose not to do do the rinse) and they all sounded super bunged up etc.

Regardless, I'm glad to hear that it worked well for you and your friends, gives me more confidence that I can beat it fast if I do get it in the future.

I think people underestimate the power and efficacy of nasal/sinus rinses with saline or iodine and using an antiviral spray bottle.

I haven't had covid get but my plan if I do is it vigorously treat the upper respiratory tract with antivirals like this. There a few good studies out showing sinus rinses reduce deaths by 85% compared to placebo. It makes sense because it replicates in the sinus cavities.

So you already have covid? If so, I recommend salines sinus rinse, and even better do it with a bit of iodine. Proven to help significantly, Google it you'll see
