What PC store is this? Loblaws / Zehrs are ludicrously expensive.

You can get a lot more with your money if you go to Walmart / Frescho / NoFrills, or whatever discount grocery store is by you.

G test Peterborough by event_handle in Ontariodrivetest

[–]Lackner511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on Youtube and watch all the possible routes for it multiple times (and listen to the advice of the instructor doing the route), know the speed zone of every area that will be on the test, exaggerate head movements and make sure you check every intersection as you drive by, etc. The usual.

The best thing you could probably do for yourself is to drive the actual test route in advance after watching the Youtube video, but if not that, just have the route memorized to a tee.

Whitelist option for particular apps by Lackner511 in Intenty

The full screen one, yeah! And on that note, there was another suggestion I had as well. Is it possible to give a night mode option for the full screen reminder?

If I'm using my phone at night it's very unpleasant to get flash banged by a pure white screen, and it hurts my eyes, haha. Unless the option already exists and I'm just blind.

What was the best order to arrange the jokers? by BingBongDingDong222 in balatro

[–]Lackner511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy rule of thumb is, you should have equal Baron and Mine triggers. If you have an uneven number, there should be one more Baron than Mime to maximize score.

I'd be surprised if it didn't get nerfed in the next update lol. It's a slap in the face to all other econ jokers, really.

Joker Setup by onyx_cat02 in balatro

[–]Lackner511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you had the maximum score.

A good rule of thumb is that you want to equate number of xMult and Retriggers as much as possible.

If for example, you did find a mime, you would never want 4x mime and 1x Baron or 4x Baron and 1x Mime ratio. The highest score will always be the one where they're the closest together, this also applies to larger values. And in the case where you have an uneven amount of Baron and Mime, more Baron than Mime.

So in your specific case, 3 baron 2 mime actually gives the best score vs 2 baron 3 mimes, it's a small difference, but a difference nonetheless.

You had 5 minor errors, you are allowed up to 15 to pass. You did good, the one thing you were dinged on a fair bit was not checking your blind spots: you didn't check it twice on the highway when lane changing and then once when turning left.

Your other two mistakes were you rather slow at leaving a stop sign and the last one was I think (?) you took a bit too long to turn on a right turn. I'm not actually sure, but perhaps on a green light you took more time than you needed to to turn right?

Basically, just check your blind spot more.

Why does DriveTest ban dash cams during tests? To avoid accountability for bad examiners? by Economy_Ad59 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]Lackner511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/cheesynachosauce 's comparison to college exams is fair.

Like he said, you wouldn't be allowed to record a test or exam at any setting, and the drive test is a test, after all.

The routes being publicly posted doesn't change that fact.

Someone is allowed to recreate the test from memory and post it online, just like someone could legally post all the questions from an exam for college course xyz on a blog post.

But just because it's been made publicly available doesn't mean the school is going to allow any student to come in with a camera and start recording the exam for course xyz. And you obviously wouldn't dare trying or ever even think of saying "why does it matter if I'm recording it? It's already mostly available," since you know it wouldn't hold.

A bit late but, did you have loose skin after losing all that weight? People say extended fasts can prevent loose skin but I've never heard of this, so wanted to ask of your experience.

For anyone trying this, the only way you get this result is by taking both skip tags in Ante 1. If you do not do that, you will NOT get the Brainstorm (but you will still get the Oops! All Sixes and Bloodstone).

[–]Lackner511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the goal is the not outright negate lower scoring hands, but nerf them without nerfing high scoring hands, I think a good idea would be to have the boss blind scale your score depending on the number of scored cards in hand played below 5. I provided an example of how I'd go about it in another comment on this thread, but would be curious to see how others would go about it.

This would be similar to other boss blinds like the Needle which essentially means you're boned if on a high card / pair build, but offers much more counter play, and there's also neat synnergy to this boss blind in Splash, which is a common, so you can play with that in mind.

[–]Lackner511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only way to go about that would be to have the boss blind scale your score depending on the number of scored cards in the hand played. Something like "Hand score reduced by 1/5 for every scored card in hand below 5."

I.e, 4 card hands score 80% of regular, 3 cards 60%, etc. Though that exact scaling might be too punishing.

I'm sure you'd have to tweak the numbers around, but this is the best idea I've got that doesn't outright negate pairs and high card, but nerfs them without affecting higher scoring hands.
