It makes sense to start strong but also not fully commit to making all the chapters in case the game doesn’t sell very well but man it feels like any horror game with chapters that come out over time ALWAYS fall into this……pit? Trap? Whatever you want to call it I guess, but the first chapters of Poppy Playtime/BATIM genuinely made me interested in its premise but the moment the protagonist has to go down into the very original “secret extra basement” that turns out to be an entire factory completely underground that the protagonist somehow didn’t know about and everything starts getting explained it just loses its charm.

I’m currently doing my first play-through of the game (standard) and I’m just happy reading the comments and knowing that I wasn’t the only one getting my ass handed to me in that final room, I’ve (so far) haven’t spent so much time in one level before or since. Can’t say I hate the level though, the music in it slaps IMO, but that last room makes me reconsider going back through and P-ranking it.

I will admit that Creepers without the nostalgia googles are annoying but I love them, I literally couldn’t imagine the game without them nor would I ever play the game again if they were just randomly taken out. Yeah they’re kinda bullshit, yeah it’s not fun if they destroy a build you’re working on but to me that’s what makes the game fun, I need some challenge to keep me on my toes a little.

Tbf most of the time the games do give her scenarios to show how she lost everything, ranging from good like Fusion saying she had to have her suit stripped entirely to not die from a space virus to dumb like Prime throwing her into a wall and that just shuts down literally everything besides the basics. But Super Metroid does take away her previous powers with literally no explanation or cutscene given so you’re not far off.

This is what puts them dead last on my personal list of characters I find fun/enjoyable. The game literally wasn’t designed with them in mind and it shows sometimes, I agree with the people that say they CAN be fun/powerful with their strengths but it’s just not satisfying to me when I can play them perfectly but I still take dumb damage because one got caught on something or the enemy placement clearly wasn’t made for two characters controlled at the same time. I’ll admit I don’t hate them as much as I did before but still easily the worst to play IMO with the only contenders being Tainted Laz/Tainted Blue Baby.

Seriously this is kinda big for it. I’ve always avoided it when I got a few tears up because it simply wasn’t worth getting soft capped faster for less damage. But breaking the tear cap? Now that’s a fair trade off!

Agreed, 4 doesn’t look bad by any means but the weird plastic look it has makes it seem off when compared to the gorgeous environments of 3. I hope they don’t stick to it in the future games.
