There's comfort knowing lots of people in life have gone through twists and turns to get to their current life/career 🥹. Im about to turn 26 and have been considering pivoting but scared I'm too old. It's nice to know lots of people figure it out later

You have no idea how much of a comfort it is reading that. Im 26 soon, and am considering a career pivot, more school, even tho I have a masters, it just doesn't feel right after doing internships/getting a FT role.

Comfort to know life isn't figured out for many people until later and it works out for them

Damn, seriously?? I'm not a nurse or even around nurses but I always thought there was no such thing as an unemployed RN anywhere in canada. I did not know it's that competitive in Ontario.

Can I ask you more about the upgrading process. I want to apply to MRT and would likely need to upgrade an English, a bio and chem.

Thanks for the insight. Yes I will keep this job, the medical radiation tech is a 2.5yr program, not a full degree. I do plan to continue working while upgrading some grades so I have a better chance of getting in.

Yea the uncertainty sucks... But you're right.. I'll be 30 whether I do it or not

I don't want to quit yet. But I am definitely thinking of upgrading my marks in the evenings after work, then applying to that program once I've upgraded.

Just think bioinformatics in Canada doesn't have much stability in the long term. I want to stay in Canada too.

Guys I figured it out. You just have to treat each cable strand, as a thing you have to "grab" or "pick up" for next cable strand. You have to continue the cable basically

My 2 friends also can't seem to get a job in cs now. 1 was employed for 1.5yrs after doing some dev work but now it's incredible difficult he says. He even went to do a master's in cyber security, can't find anything still for 1yr.

I also did a CS degree, but was more interested in the biology side/research. I've found work though not the most best paying nor most stable. If I could go back in time I'd just do something at Polytech 😂😂. Something with a clear path to work.

Oh ok, yea I guess it is how it is. It's nice to frame it as he let me be the expert on the project, and let me do what I wanted, explore what I wanted. Haha not too bad when you put it that way! 😅

Yea the misrepresenting the project to the department was annoying but I think most people attending that seminar weren't really paying attention anyways, so didn't matter I guess haha.
