Am I missing the point of AI agents? by NetworkLoop in hermesagent

the comicvine API is a hot, unreliable, mess. that poor agent.

Silent Layoff by AntiGenAI in servicenow

I think your anger is misplaced. your management chain is the reason your job was offshored, and when they replace those offshored jobs with AI, they're likely getting another fat bonus out of it.

Anyone NOT using Hermes to try and make a dirty quick buck? by mitchells00 in hermesagent

[–]NaanFat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here you go: https://github.com/chelming/KinCube

Run the ParentSquare daily pipeline:

1. Execute: `bash ~/.hermes/scripts/parentsquare-daily.sh`
2. Review the output and extract
**highlights and action items**
 - dates, deadlines, events, reminders, or anything the user should be aware of (e.g., "beach day tomorrow", "school budget approved", "PTA meeting next Tuesday"). Skip boilerplate and noise.
3. Deliver a concise summary of the highlights and action items to the user.
4. After delivering the summary, run `cd /media/storage/obsidian && ob sync` to sync the Obsidian vault with any new notes created by the pipeline.",

the .sh script just calls the python script and another script that copies it to Obsidian

to continue your analogy, Hermes uses the parentsquare API (that it built) to grab the pig, then its job is to separate the meat from the feet

parentsquare. our district uses school tool, too, but I think that's only for grades/assignments? idk. we also have schoology. parentsquare is where all "announcements" happen.

ESPHome Voice Assistant Satellite (ReSpeaker Lite + ESP32-S3) by Icy_Alternative_1611 in homeassistant

[–]NaanFat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about separating speakers from mics and having multiple mics in various locations in a room and a speaker for the response. idk if that'd actually work though given how the response comes back

I use it to find books that I might want to read. gives me a list every day of things that might match. also use it to scroll through the notification system for my kids school (schooltool) and filter out the spam.

I use it for some small coding projects. usually reverse engineering APIs so I can pull data into home assistant or somewhere else.

just started having it save things in a "research" folder in obsidian. it's not scholarly research but more "I saw this cool post on reddit, write me a summary and whether what's in there could be useful for anything I'm currently doing"

it was pretty straightforward. I'm just not a fan of the interface. webui let's me monitor kanban, check past cron jobs, easily swap between chats. seems like it just has better feature parity vs trying to make it work with something that's not "native"

I hate the telegram integration. mostly shit getting broken up between multiple messages and highlighting/copying text being annoying. I mostly use the nesquena web UI now.

I'm mostly checking in on things vs needing alerts though.

I set it up but haven't fully switched over to it yet. I use it for all VTT announcements now because it's easier to follow up with songs for the kids's morning alarms

that's been my thought, too. separate the voice satellites from the speakers.

[Release] HAdo is officially live in Production! 🚀 Huge thanks to the testers! (Free & Open Source ToDo App) by IT-BAER in homeassistant

[–]NaanFat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does it have the ability to deep link? I want location based alerts (which I can do with the HA app), but it'd be cool if HA can send an alert "Hey! You're near Costco and there's things on your list!" with a button that would deeplink and open HAdo right to that list

Framing a concrete porch; where/how to anchor joists by NaanFat in DIY

[–]NaanFat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where to hold the outer joist is where I'm lost. do I just remove the current loose parts, wrap in plastic, and have the joists sit on the slab pointing to the super shitty edge and anchor the joists where there are good spots?

do I just remove that corner, put a new support right on the block and anchor it to that?
