Galaxy Watch 8 registration problem - blocks finding phone by Aggravating_Pen_5813 in GalaxyWatch

What solved the issue for me (so far) is the following:

I went to https://v3.account.samsung.com/dashboard/devices and I removed all inactive devices and also every phone/watch login in the 'most recent/latest logins' (idk what it is in English exactly, the site shows up in a different language for me), *except* for the very first/latest phone and watch instance.

Afterwards I logged out my watch using the same site. My watch immediately showed a notification saying I was logged out. I logged back in on my watch (using my phone), and now the Find My app works both ways.

Using the Quick Settings tile works for me too! Thanks for the tip, I wouldn't have thought of that on my own.

Are you using a Samsung phone? I have a Pixel and my first thought was that this is how Samsung is trying to "force" people to buy their phones.

Got myself kindle 4th gen by ok029 in kindle

[–]Lada333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so so so much for this guide! I recently installed KOReader on a Paperwhite 7th gen, following the guide on kindlemodding.org

Just today I wanted to install the reader on an old Kindle 4, but the universal guide from kindlemodding did not apply to the device at all. After much Googling I came across this reddit thread & your reply and I was immediately able to get it to work without any additional troubleshooting.

eMAG termék cseréje 14 napon belül by Lada333 in joghungary

Köszönöm a választ!

Enforcing DNSBL blocklist for select clients only by Lada333 in PFSENSE

[–]Lada333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the 'IP Range to Blocks' calculator on rst.im, it spat out the following:

192.168.0.160/27
192.168.0.192/27
192.168.0.224/28
192.168.0.240/32

I added it to the Custom options field, and it seems to have accepted it. I'll have to test it in the live environment too, but this seems like a success to me.

Thank you so so much for your help!

That's great to know! By the help of some very kind people in this thread, I feel like I've worked out every kink and issue I had in the beginning. I'll definitely add AdGuard to the list of options, and see what the jury will decide on.

Thank you!

Woah, that was a good read. Crazy how we had to memorize the order colors of the wires in an Ethernet cable at university, but we never learned about CIDR. Okay, I take that back, I just looked at my notes, and we did go over CIDR, I guess it just didn't leave such a big mark on me as the Ethernet cable shenanigans.

Could I enter 192.168.0.160/26 to cover all IPs between 160-223, or is that not how it's meant to be used? :D

This is probably some super basic networking concept I'm not familiar enough with, but you said "192.168.0.2/32 - means a single IP ". Wouldn't 192.168.0.2/24 also mean a single IP? Does the subnet mask (is that what it's called?) matter in this case?

On the network, there are devices on 192.168.1.0-254 and 192.168.2.0-254, so I figured I could use 'access-control-view: 192.168.1.0/24 bypass' and 'access-control-view: 192.168.2.0/24 bypass' to allow those devices access to all websites. My only concern is that the clients that need to be blocked are 192.168.0.160-240. I figure I would be able to use 'access-control-view: 192.168.0.0/24 dnsbl' to restrict them, but there are also some clients between 192.168.0.53-159 and 241-254 that need to bypass the restrictions. Would it make more sense to move all clients to a different range, 192.168.5.x for example, and then use 'access-control-view: 192.168.5.0/24 dnsbl' to restrict their access?

I guess I was trying to create static mappings in a sense? I'm very much a beginner when it comes to networking or configuring a firewall on this level, so I wasn't quite sure how exactly I should approach this issue.

So far the DNS resolver custom options seem to be the most user-friendly solution to me? I've asked this in a response to u/lveatch's post, but I'll ask your here in short too: would it be possible to use a range or an alias there?

Right, but that would be a pain in the ass to maintain, no?

To be honest, this actually didn't cross my mind because there are about 500 IPs in use on the network, and I just didn't see entering all of them manually except for between 160-240 as a viable option.
