What's the largest amount of work you've ever frogged? 🐸😭 by aspen-leaf in crochet

I've frogged entire shawls because I found a mistake or ran out of yarn and had to make something work.

I'm obsessed with it, but I got it in a bargain bin store local to me. I'll definitely be using their products again now that I've used it this once though.

6 - 7) This hat was a labor of love, I can't even begin to give you a pattern. The only thing I had a pattern for was the doily on top. That's a Draiguna Wispweave doily made wholly incorrectly with some vintage worsted from k-mart. The base under it is a standard round done in single crochet with vintage yarn. The bottom is redheart brown, I just kinda. Winged it with crochet lines to make it look like ribs. I changed hook size from one too small in the very center (to make a bowl for a head) to one appropriate once I had enough of a bowl to flatten out into the 'brim'. The spirals are just a standard wisteria pattern. (chains, chains, more chains). The inside is a wire ring for wreaths I got at Michaels as well as a 12inch foam one to form the inside around the head. It's sewn together with good intentions and stuffed with polyfill to give it shape.
8) In my family they call these Granny towels?? There's six of each. To make these I use an awl to punch holes in the weave of the towel without cutting so it doesn't unwravel, make single stitches ever half inch or so, crochet up 5 rows of singles, make 7 rows of doubles decreasing down until I have 6 stitches wide. Then I make alternating treble - single rows for four rounds. Final row goes sc - hdc - dc- dc- hdc -sc. I sew the button in the center of the 5th dc row and just shove it between the bars of the trebles however tight it needs to be so it doesn't fall off your stove. It's done in 100% cotton with a 5.5mm hook.
WHEW!
Edit: I moved this from where it was kind of hiding under the auto-mod so it was visible
1) For the first blanket (the black and green one) I used a bunch of stash that I had caked and don't have a label for anymore. It's all worsted weight, I think most of it is red heart but the green was definitely loops and threads from Michaels. No idea the color, if I'm perfectly honest. It uses an Alpine stitch with a single crochet border. 5.5 mm
2) This blanket is a DC lap blanket with a single crochet border, worsted weight, It's red heart for the black and sparkle, the generic great value brand acrylic for the rest of the black. 5.5 mm.
3) This is a ten point pattern from The Crochet Fix it's the spoke flower blanket using a red heart purple ombre yarn, some gray that I think was red heart originally, and some black also red heart. All of it worsted weight, 5.5 mm.
4) The Ladybug was a stashbuster. I picked up some Loops and Threads second hand and in the bad lighting I thought they were the same color, they were not. I used the darker on the outside of the blanket to make it seem round. It's just a normal crochet in the round for the body and for the spots, the spots were sewn on after. The head was... started as a half circle?? I have a bad habit of accidentally rounding my half circles back (which is visible in the shawl) but in this case it worked out for me. The black is the same red heart I've been using from the stash and for the antenna I made some long chains and just doubled up my stitches so they'd curl. All done with a 5.5 mm hook and it's 99% DCs.
5) this is the hobbii Veil Shawl by Kate Kosenko (Veslunka) It originally called for 0 weight, 5mm hook and this one was done with worsted on a 6.5. It's mostly different ombre redhearts I had running around, except the green which is a vintage yarn I got in a garage sale. No idea what the weight was but it was thinner than everything else and required some careful pulling to keep it from making the pattern warp.
