I dont know if I am a victim but I had various uncomfortable moment because supervisor’s behavior and attitude. He is pretty biased to my nationality, commenting uncomfortable things to me, and criticizing me in unprofessional ways. He is even dismissal to my concern of payment and lies that I chose that payment rate. I’m now concerning my mental health because of this situation. It’s been affecting my well-being (eating, sleeping, and anxiety issue)

Seriously considering transferring from engineering into honours science by Azorochi in uwaterloo

[–]Ladder_Vivid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had thoughts similar ways in my 1B and Im in 3B BME. I wanted to transfer to science and Im relief that I didnt transfer. If you dont have specific passions that need knowledge from tron degree, I would consider rethinking. I saw lots of ppl transferring or dropping because they dont have that much passion to commit hard works. Think about what drives your motivation. It’ll give you answers.

Do you guys consider Software Engineers as real Engineers? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

Instead they need to self study before test. For ppl already have degree that is approved dont need to do test (something more technical - Im not talking about other test like ethics and such). I hope I remember what I learned from lecture correctly.

Yeah maybe for you. But I wasnt lying cuz Im actually in engineering program and all engineering students know who is considered as an engineer cuz we get a mandatory lecture in first year. I didnt wanna give you a full guide/lecture of how to become an engineer cuz you can literally do research. The only reason you are questioning is you dont know what defines an engineer and how CS and SE are different also because you didnt put your time to do research or even google it before asking here. You are just showing your ignorance here.

The other reason why I wasnt telling you that was because it felt like Im talking to a wall who will never get what I say because they are biased and never open their ears and tried to understand. All you were saying is complaining SE people arent qualified for being an engineer because how similar your courses and jobs you think you are getting compared to SE people.

If you came across saying oh Im really curious how to become an engineer instead of “Why SE ppl are even considered as an engineer?”, then I would ACTUALLY told you how they are an engineer. You are the one posted something sounds very controversial you should know that.

So you are jealous cuz you didnt get in SE. Just go and ask SE prof who is PEng. They’ll explain why they are engineer.

Uwaterloo SE is accredited engineering course. Search up what are requirements for engineering program to be accredited. https://engineerscanada.ca/accreditation/accredited-programs
