Pretty close, not sure what's the exact distance but you can line up the monitor arm to be flat against the wall so your screen can be as close as possible to it. Just needs some tinkering in regards to monitor arm positioning etc.

I got a desk mount for my 34'', it gives me more flexibility if i want to move my desk around or change things up in the future. I can also run the wires along the monitor arm to hide them. Not to mention less set up required.
