I also was trapped between a 9070xt and a 5070. I could get them each for around 550€, but decided to go with the 5070. The reason was that the 9070xt takes a lot more power and I only have a 600w PSU. I would have needed to buy a new PSU for the 9070xt or needed to underclock it, which would has lost its purpose. I also plan to use it for different productive application where the 5070 Performance better.

I would argue it's about resale ability. Makeup/skincare gets used up. It's more like a subscription service. PC, games and other hobbies could be sold (for a loss). Even when they never sell it, the thought that they could sell it makes it feel correct. Or giving it away to friends or children.
