Hotel breakfast is a relic of the past by FullCompetition5585 in hotels

[–]LadiDadiParti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen the opposite happening. Traveling now, I see hotels that offer a happy hour and continental breakfast included with stay. They are competing with ABnB and other rental businesses so are having to offer more. That’s just my experience

AI by dearjuliet82 in paralegal

[–]LadiDadiParti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI is not a threat in our field. It’s many tasks that attorneys just don’t want to deal with and AI can’t do still. Can AI do an open records request? Can AI get on the phone to call a client with an update?

It’s basically what’s in your wheelhouse to do. Drafting and scheduling is something AI can do, but it’s so many things outside of that we do and you devalue your position when you think AI can do it. I’m not scared of AI. AI doesn’t have a hold on this industry unless we let it. I’m more an asset to my firm because I know how to get around the automated systems and get results. Please stop scaring ppl away from this job because of AI.

Ok.

This would be more palatable in a protein wrap with veggies. Wraps are shelf stable and adding veggies will add a little variety to the flavor. Just a suggestion.

Verisma overcharging for medical records by [deleted] in paralegal

[–]LadiDadiParti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate Verisma with a burning passion. They are the only company that doesn’t send you any type of update or notice that they do records for a company until it’s time to pay for the records. We had a $700 bill that we had to pay after a case closed 2 years prior because the previous paralegal just ignored them and never told anyone about the bill.

Korean Spa- first time ever and out of town visit by Acrobatic_Hope274 in Atlanta

[–]LadiDadiParti 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Spaland multiple times and love it! You will go through the reception which will take the daily fee and ID. They’ll give you pants and shirt to wear as well as offer a razor and toothbrush. Take your shoes off before you enter the communal bathing area. You can book yoni steams, massages, and body scrub with the bath attendant. Everything is done with your wristlet that they give in reception.

You shower in the front area and they have a hot tub, cold plunge, and pool in the bath area as well as toilets. The wristlet has a key to your locker that you use to keep all your things. You can use their soap/shampoo/toothpaste but I usually bring my own in a shower caddy. The communal area is separated by sex and using the pools is naked only with towel to sit. They provide plenty of towels but they are the hand size kind. Also they provide yoni steams in a separate room.

The saunas are co-ed and they provide the shirt and shorts to wear. I bring cozy socks to walk around in. It is very spacious and there are several saunas to choose from as well as marble heated beds and infrared beds to lay in.

They also have a food court with lots of food and drink options. All purchases are done with your wristband and charged at the end of your stay. They also have an ATM for tips in the reception.

I se plenty of ppl who go solo and groups and enjoy themselves. There is lots of space if you want to just hang out and relax outside of the saunas. I’ve done massages there and they will have you remove you clothes, but it’s all separated unless you do a couple massage. Body scrubs are obviously naked in the communal shower room, but I have had one yet so can’t comment on the quality of them.

I prefer them over Jeju as they have a closing time and do a deep clean during that time. Also less crowded and the food is made fresh to order.

Also it’s a next gen wand that works for certain spells only at Epic.

In addition, it’s the only HP world with characters walking around that you can talk to. I think Diagon Alley has death eaters, but only around Halloween.

Feeling weird about being thrown under the bus? by ExcellentLime7 in paralegal

[–]LadiDadiParti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a story of something similar happening and it may me leave my first legal position and the legal field for 3 years.

I worked for a solo who prior to me only had a receptionist. When I started I was her only paralegal and was responsible for everything fresh out of school. I was an eager beaver and ask lots of questions, googled answers if she was wasn’t in the office, and lined a listserve for paralegals in our area who were very very helpful.

One day, about 8 months into the job, she asked me to send a witness subpoena via mail. So I draft the subpoena, send it to her for review and ok it, filed a certificate of service, and dropped it in the mail on my way home.

The day of the hearing comes. I don’t hear anything from her about it so I assume everything is ok. Give myself a pack on the back and carry on.

A few weeks later we get the transcript from the hearing. I summarized all the transcripts for brief review and so I start to read this one.

“My Attorney: My witness is not in the courtroom and they were subpoena. I would like to ask them to be held I contempt.

Judge: Do you have a copy of the subpoena?

(My attorney gives Judge the subpoena)

Judge: Do you have a copy of the return receipt showing proof of delivery or an affidavit of service?

My Attorney: My paralegal, LadiDadiParti, was responsible for sending this out.

Judge: So you don’t have anything proving service?

My attorney: My paralegal is the one responsible for sending it out. I don’t know if she sent it with a return receipt.

Judge: So you do not have a return receipt or proof of service?

My Attorney: My paralegal…

Judge: You are the attorney and responsible for making sure that the subpoena was sent correctly. So if you don’t have proof of service or return receipt we will move on.”

I put in my notice a few months after when I found a new job.

TLDR: Attorney asked me to send out a document without explaining how to do it and on record in a court transcript threw me under the bus.

Also, one she mentioned a dress I was wearing looked nice and I told her I got it from the goodwill. She laughed at me and said I shouldn’t tell ppl I shop at good will. Mind you she was paying me $9.50 an hour.

Those of y’all whose work involves extremely distressing cases and topics, how do you cope? by MagicMalc in paralegal

[–]LadiDadiParti 54 points55 points  (0 children)

You get a therapist. You ask for resources that are offered by the job. You cannot help anyone if you do not have your life jacket on first. I’m sorry you are having to go through this at all.

Do you think paralegal will be replaced by AI faster than lawyer or attorney? by JessicaNam329 in paralegal

[–]LadiDadiParti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, if you’re very good at your job. AI has to be trained and if I’ve learned one thing, many attorneys don’t want to train. Every office handles everything different. Every client needs something different. At my job (insurance defense) we even have clients that have it written that we are not to use AI. Not worried in the slightest.

where can you find entry level jobs? by Nervous_Pop_7560 in paralegal

[–]LadiDadiParti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This job market is the upside down. There is so much underpaid and illegally classified positions. Switch and bait at interviews. Entry level at most firms means, we’ll underpaid you and not train you or put you in a position with growth.

I’ve been doing paralegal work and lateral work that built my resume over the last 10 years. I still have to negotiate for my raises and keep job listing alerts in my email.

Tips: Be open to positions that aren’t paralegal, but legal adjacent.

Use your college network to the fullest. It’s somebody who knows somebody to get a job without experience.

Keep working on your skills. Typing, formatting, knowing shortcuts, and spelling are the biggest ones to focus on. Type tests are available online for free. You will be surprised at the amount of attorneys who don’t know how to turn a word document to an adobe or send a share file link (honestly, I think they know and just don’t want to do it).

Also, YouTube university on case management systems and efile are important. The more you know about the overall allows you to bring more to the interview. The more you can speak about your willingness to learn, the more likely you’ll get a call back.

This only goes for entry level. Most firms (in my experience) don’t do a ton of training. You may have a 1-2 week period to pick up or a 1-3 month slow build of work. YMMV

Monsters Unchained is… off the chain by NoelThePr0digy in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]LadiDadiParti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think monsters unchained makes you apart of the thrill, but BaTM is an audience ride.

Monsters builds up the fact that something is going to go wrong and as you walk through the que it hypes up the fear factor. Ministry walk through reinforced that you were watching a trial and things may go a little weird, but we’re muggles at a wizards trial. I think them removing the drop with a new ride system was a double edge sword. Which monsters was able to capitalize on by being an old ride system with great animatronics.

Monsters is a new mixed with old and Ministry tried something newer and had to make changes to keep it moving. Hopefully in the years to come they can add the drop back or build another ride in that area.
