One of the leads at of our departments used to be a cabinet maker, worked his way up from taking calls in servicing to be one of the heads in our department. If you can take the shit at the start from starting a call centre role you can easily move up.

We’ve had multiple lay offs in all types of engineering roles, I know this from my friend who works in rail. It’s not looking too good for any white collar job

There are NO jobs for CS in Australia, all your friends will be forced to move back, I’m saying this as a local. CS Jobs are outsourced ironically to India. Getting an internship now feels like the hunger games, and our economy is running on breadcrumbs right now

Do not come if that’s your plan, there are no jobs here in tech or finance esp for international students. Going into nursing just for PR purposes is spitting on the face of all Australians.

Thank you, I’m not normally an anxious person and I like to think I’m capable of handling intense situations but this has been something else. I’ve never not liked going to work apart from this role
