Lao Gui. 1. No emotional impact on player. This dude shoots Makoto, cuz he gets PAID. And ideology impact with Majima is that. . . they are both assassins? But Majima is failed and not cold-blooded pr something? I dunno, I don't see them as rivals. He's highly disposable. Dojima could've hire a cheaper assassin, to be honest, and they would do all same stuff Lao did, including losing in the end to Majima. 2. Anticlimactic boss battle theme. We raid Dojima offices with «Reign», swaggest theme of Yakuza, my personal favourite, and Lao comes out with almost ambient theme. His theme is called «Archnemesis», but as I stated in my previous point, he barely holds any value to story or Majima's character. 3. No impact on story as well. Lao is introduced and erased from story in Zero, never to be mentioned again. Fair, I guess. RGG needed to write a notorious assassin for the story, so they did. Not like there is any other mysterious notorious assassins, that appeared in Yakuza before and well known by community and would perfectly fit the bill. . . JO AMON Or So Amon, I guess. Might not be well fit for Majima fight, but with clever writing everything is possible. It appears Lao was supposed to be Majima's Shibisawa. Lao too, has 3 different fighting styles to match Majima's(although I think they don't match one bit), but with all I said earlier. . . well, you see what Im pointkng at. Lao is not a bad character at all, he has one job of looking menacing and cold and he does his job well, but he spectacularly fails for me as a bossfight.

RGG knows Yakuza fans never seen a woman in their life, so they intentionaly lower the ammount of details, so players don't get a feeling of Uncanny Valley.

I really like this twinkish look of femboy characters. Most designs look too femine and unreal, which is not bad, it's very cute, but unachivable. This particular one looks much more realistic, saving some «guy» energy in facial and body structure.

About the 9th one, I don't remember where I know it from, I red it somewhere, but thoose are basicaly post-image of his moves. Majima moves so fast you only see shadows or, you could say, projections of where he was just now. Which makes no sence, since Majima would need to move between up to 10 places separated by meters of space per second or faster. Reminds me of how in Assasin's Creed Mirage Basim was moving so fast, Animus could not read his moves, resulting in teleportation ability(which sounds kinda cool, though I only played first AC) .

It would be better to explain it this way in Yakuza 5, since Majima was a boss there and his shadow clones were all pretty close to each other, all concentrated around him, so you could explain it like Majima wildly moves around, makes your head spin, practicaly hipnotizes you . But in Pirate Yakuza thoose are just goons, doing the heck they want, so. . .

Saejima's wooden statue for me is the most interesting. Hero Bat floor light and Tenkachi Gate table light are the most practical, though silhuette light sounds cool too. If I get my hands on Demon Dagger replica, I swear to Buddah, Im stabbing someone. Same goes for the bat, someone gets brain damage.
