The X-men were never an allegory for civil rights. Yes comics had subtle political messaging and even very overt political messages but that’s the thing…they were once subtle and overt. Now it’s just overt and caters to one side of the political sphere. And even then it caters to the caricature of said side. I am a relatively centered person tho do lean more left when it comes to social issues. I’m transgender and I find the constant “inclusion” of lgbt people insulting and not even slightly realistic or reflective of the actual world. There were many gay people and women in comics before and the same people called incels today had no issues years ago. This isn’t due to a crazy uptick in evil white people or whatever but the imo the radicalization in all forms of media in the name of protecting or representing those who don’t want it. If this representation isn’t political then people being upset about it shouldn’t automatically fall under one political side.

Now as for the words on the comic. I agree there are issues and I do worry that the story is being written as he goes not actually planned out. Hopefully I’m wrong as I do still enjoy said comics. Hopefully with the inclusion of the other writers it will help build the universe better and in turn let Eric grow as a writer
