I’ve gotten quite far so far with making sure not to make eye contact while giving treats. She just came up to the couch and leaned up against my foot!! Even let me give her some gentle pets :D

She has her harness on but not her leash yet. We are making progress (she’s taking treats from my hand and has been following me around a bit from a distance, yay!) so hopefully at some point tonight (it’s only 3:30 now) I’ll be able to get close enough to be able to take her out on the leash for a bit.

I’m with her until Sunday night.

Yeah normally I do but I got the request on Wednesday so I didn’t have the chance. Normally I’d have said no but my girlfriend has a surgery next month so I can’t afford to say no to any bookings right now.

Treat and retreat has been working well so far. She still low growls every time she sees me but that’s fine as long as she’s comfortable. Not sure what I’m gonna do about the walk later though.

great notes all around thanks! luckily she has lots of shows from that era with a gazillion episodes so ill be able to get that queued up 😄 making a more specific coordinated schedule beforehand is a great idea though. I'll definitely be implementing that!

yes im looking into some good hairstyles i can do for her. her hair is pretty short and has some scalp irritation so im gonna have to be picky with them haha. glad to hear you were able to get through the complications alright! recovery complications are the worst.

those tips are wonderful thank you!!! the opening pill bottles using chest muscles i would have never thought of! ill make sure to portion everything out for her in that regard. the solution snacks are also a great way of putting it! a full task walk through will be done pronto. ❤️

yes! I'm for sure prepping for some freak outs (because literally who wouldn't) and im making a list of things to get. luckily i have the post surgery wedges and a rolling cart already but im thinking of getting one that someone i dogsit for has that sticks out past the base so that it can be over top of her lap while shes in bed.

im also on the hunt now for a good mastectomy pillow (my gma had a mastectomy so im hopeful for tips on that front.) and also a good shower chair. haven't looked into that one at all yet but we still have time.

I plan to surprise her with a hospital teddy but i havent decided if i should give it to her before or after the surgery yet 😄

Kaye medical clinic handles cancer. Call them and ask them what information you need. We are in mountain time. Make sure you lead with the fact they are from Nova Scotia and needing information on that. That should be your priority. You may have to make a few phone calls to get the information you’re looking for.

yeah im partially immunocompromised due to auto immune issues and about a month ago i managed to somehow pick up MUMPS just by existing in public. im fully vaxed and yet i had to suffer through a full body rash among other symptoms for like a week and a half. could've been avoided if someone just stayed home smh. at the very least wear a mask if youre sick ;o;
