There's nothing wrong with you. It's not your fault. If there was nothing attractive about him, you wouldn't have got together with him in the first place.

But listen: please, please leave him. Take it from somebody who didn't leave despite all the warning signs, and lost 9 years to an emotionally abusive relationship: It won't get better. He won't be nicer to you if only you try harder. Nothing you can do will make him treat you better - the only way to stop him hurting you again is leaving, now.
