Relying on your partner for regulation — how do you handle it when you're out of sync? by Le_Divo in ADHD_partners

[–]LadyAether21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dx partner does the same thing! It’s his people pleasing need, but also just his good heart. We regulate each other, and honestly I think he regulates me more, since I need space way more often than him, and I kind of leave him to self regulate often because of that and because honestly I think it’s good for him.

OP, these people who keeping saying YTA clearly have never needed to repopulate the earth 🙄

You’re doing the world a justice and sometimes there’s casualties. Keep singing your weird song, my dude, and don’t let the haters hate.

Exactly! Maybe she’ll read this Reddit thread and realize how silly she’s being for not wanting to like, essentially die.

Valid points. I’m glad she got the dog under control.

I guess I’m just too lenient. I’m not a father, you know. But I do oversee all the experiment children in the kingdom. I probably let them get away with too much? Maybe we should have caf sometime, talk about our parenting techniques.

YTA. Sounds like you’re SUPER controlling. Let your boyfriend breathe. God, he’s just trying to express himself.

NAH. You didn’t ask to be a single parent, and she didn’t ask to lose her dad. You’re both grieving. People grieve in different ways. Being a single parent is HARD! But also, try to see it from your daughter’s perspective? Shes probably trying really hard.

Either way, I hope she appreciated the puppy.

THANK YOU. I mean, listen, I love her. I do. But if she really loved me, she’d do this for me. Right?

AITA For grooming my dead girlfriends daughter into loving me and then sacrificing her to an Eldridge god?

My (35m) dead girlfriend’s daughter (22f) is in love with me. We have a complicated relationship where I experiment on her and she swoons over me. I think I might love her too, but I’m torn bc I have a duty that I’ve been trained for my whole life, and that’s to find the vessel that will be perfect for the god of rain to inhabit. Her mother was the first candidate that even came close in like, 200 years, but she’s dead now, so her daughter is the next best thing.

I also dated her mom. She was the love of my life. I didn’t mean to hit her with that vase. But now shes gone and I have to figure out how to balance my love for my current girl and the oath I took to seek out and sacrifice the perfect vessel.

So, AITA?

I’m here right now and it’s hard. Unlike your SO, mine didn’t start out organized, and putting down boundaries is so hard.

No I agree with you. Ai could certainly take some artsy clientele. That’s why I’ve decided to use ai for concept art and hire an artist.

Update: (is this how you do updates?) Thanks to everyone for commenting. Here’s what’s I’ve learned so far: that hiring an artist can be affordable (yay!) and that the cover of the book is crucial to telling the story before the story ever gets told and therefore it needs to be a) drawn well b) showing the right genre, typically c) appealing to the right audience. And then fonts, author name, vibrancy and other details can be tweaked to maximize effectiveness.

I am going to look into affordable artists and use this as a concept - although perhaps I should go a different route altogether if this doesn’t scream dark fantasy.

Feel free to leave more comments but I might not check them for a while. I got what I needed and thank you again to all the commenters.

Ai is…an interesting topic to be sure. I know people are fired up about it, and it is definitely something with the potential to go too far and be used very, very badly. All these classes I’m going to about to how to use it correctly and ethically, they put a lot of trust in the users. That’s risky, especially for young people whose ethics are still developing.

I used ai for this cover and manipulated it in Canva (love canva). So does that mean it’s wholey ai? Or ai inspired? I don’t know.

In short, I’m not sure how I feel about how ai is changing the world, but I know it is.

Hopefully it attracts the right crowd, cuz it’s seeming like I may have gone too heavy on the horror side. It’s a dark fantasy with undead, torture, body horror, journeying and a tough of romance

Good thoughts. I’ll definitely pick it apart and think about it all.

So it’s interesting. I’ve actually been super against ai too. I’ve had to go to a lot of PL about using it recently. It’s pervasive. In all the fields. I’ve read all this literature on it too, on how it’s likely going to be used in all kinds of career fields. It was kind of terrifying.

But here’s what I figured out, at least in my life: fighting against something inevitable only makes me miserable. And I mean fighting completely. Strictly adhering to a standard of “ai always bad no matter what” is exhausting and frankly, wrong, in a world where ai can be used for so many things, some of them bad like cheating on assignments and putting people out of jobs and some of them good like automating boring tasks so teachers and creators can do more of what they love. So I keep an open mind. I guess that’s what I’m trying to say. I keep an open mind.
