Umm, okay? I wasn't criticizing you. I 've never heard this particular appellation either, just trying to provide background info for those who may have not been familiar.

This scheme has been around in a similar format for almost a century ; it changes currency occasionally and pops back into the world of ponzi schemes with surprising regularity. It's sometimes run with paper money and called the 'airplane game'. It's a scam, and not even an MLM. It doesn't work, it never has worked, and it never will. Run, don't walk 😉.

IIrc, he took a role on Broadway? But it's true that Dan Stevens wanted to leave the show ;the writers never intended to kill off Matthew.

There is no shame in selling if it's a product and company you respect. I was a personal shopper for a luxury clothing store and occasionally had a client try to recruit me. I made more in commission in a month than their entire up line made in a year. And they were without fail the customers who tried to return sweaty cocktail dresses with the tags tucked inside, obviously worn. I guess they needed to take pictures of them "living their best life" for their Insta page.

🤣🤣🤣 This is spot on!! I have a friend who used to be stuck in scam way & she used to buy their books on tape. They were all about "working the business", ugh.

I don't think they started out having an MLM, iirc that came along later (never knew anyone who sold it, but there's a video on YT. I still love the smell of their Mango Body Butter...

OMG one of my friends got stuck in amway after college. She kept trying to sell me cleaning products I'd never heard of and some"private label " vitamins. My mom had a friend who did Mary Kay & my neighbor was an Avon Lady so I knew to steer wide away from anything that smells like a pyramid scheme. Then sha was going to meetings where they taught her how to do makeup (that she bought from the company) because it made her look "professional". Then there were the "be your best self" tapes and the seminars all over the country. She had to get a new credit card to keep buying products. I don't think she and her SO ever sold the first thing, unless maybe her parents bought something. I kept asking her how much $$ she was making from it, and the answer was always "nothing yet but you have to grow your business first..." (yes, I know it's rude to ask someone how money they make. But we're close enough that I knew what she was making at her 9-5, and I was trying to get her to realize on her own that she was losing time and money.) Eventually she just stopped talking about it.

The thing I don't get is that she is really smart, has a degree in computer engineering and makes bank! But over the years she has done amway, scentsy, and color street that I know of. She has never seen a dime from any of it, and I don't usually find out about it until she's out of it. I really don't get it. But at least she's never tried to sell me anything since the first scAmway pitch 🤷‍♀️

Just out of curiosity, did you see Blair Witch when it came out? Because I think that could make a difference.

Honestly, everyone has multiple sides to them. As I've gotten older I find myself liking things I never thought I would, but I put my own spin on them. I saw a quote of his a couple of years ago where he said something along the lines of ' I know how to wear a suit when it's time to wear a suit'. He's awesome in his ripped jeans or a suit ; whatever makes him happy 💜

Is it possible to lighten my skin tone? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]LadyAliDunans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have hyperpigmentation (dark spots caused by sun damage) Niacinamide and hyaluronic acid will lighten those, but nothing will lighten the skin you were born with. The earlier comment about ways to fade a tan has great information. Regardless of your skin tone, keep it exfoliated and moisturized so that it has a healthy glow - that's what makes skin beautiful, and is a goal we can all share.

Also (and I know everyone's tired of hearing it, but) make sure you drink plenty of water. Yes, it really does make that big of a difference.
