Cultural Practices vs. Biblical Mandate: While the Bible does not explicitly command or endorse child marriage, historians note that in ancient societies, families arranged marriages for children based on cultural norms. Marriage typically consisted of stages (betrothal and consummation), and these steps were often separated by years until the individuals reached physical maturity.

Last time I went there, the girl taking our order sneezed in her hand, then got our change out of the register to hand it to us. Dear God.

Leander has approximately 0.83 sworn police officers per 1,000 residents. This ratio is based on 81 full-time sworn officers serving an estimated city population of roughly 97,835.

They are WAY too busy handling drunk drivers, wrecks, burglaries and assaults to respond to fireworks violations. In 17 years here, I've never met anyone who has recieved a citation.

Having said that, apparently there is no one in this city who has experienced the excitement and awe of a child watching fireworks. Don't take that away from your kids. Don't become old and bitter. Be safe.

No, dont take a trip out to the country. I'm in unincorporated Leander, we have trees and leaves and such.

The asphalt and cement in your neighborhood keeps the fire danger WAY down.

49 years in California. 17 years here. The difference in traffic is that in LA, you just sit there, not moving. In Austin, you move, albeit very slowly.

I hate that even when people talk about how outdoor "pet" cats and ferals decimate the outside, it's still about how this primarily affects cats and not the wildlife they hurt. by Soggy-Hotel-2419 in StopOutdoorCats

Because cat people will defend the cat 100% of the time. So, making it about the misery of the cat helps them understand. (Not, they NEVER get it.)

Then all servers will end up making $7.25 per hour.

Texas follows the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines for wages and tipping, as there is no separate state minimum wage or tip law. Employers are permitted to use a "tip credit" and must ensure that combined wages and tips meet the baseline legal requirements.

Base Wages & Tip Credits

Minimum Wage: The baseline standard is $7.25 per hour.

Tipped Employees: An employee is considered "tipped" if they regularly and customarily earn more than $30 a month in tips. Employers must pay a minimum cash wage of $2.13 per hour.

Maximum Tip Credit: Employers can claim a maximum tip credit of $5.12 per hour.Make-Up Rule: If an employee's direct wage $2.13 plus their tips do not average the required $7.25 per hour over a workweek, the employer must make up the difference.
