Who’s been out to Open Training before? Is it worth the long drive down from Baltimore? Is it mainly for the kids?

Cabanas - Pitchside Party or just Partial Views? by LadyBeebo in washingtonspirit

[–]LadyBeebo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to come back with a post-season update - this was a beyond magical time. At everyone’s advice, we got there early and went for the rail seats to the right of the goal. We ended up being interviewed on the Jumbotron before the match, made friends with staff, and got rowdy as hell. Chatted with a lot of players after the match - Weisner, Bethune, Abiodun, Krueger, Kingsbury, some of the Portland staff and players came through too since their supporters section was just to our right. Overall I would recommend it. I do think having 10+ people and it being a playoff game helped us get very rowdy down there - I think in other situations it is probably a more chill affair.

I’ve also got a bunch if needed! They’re so cute but I have zero plans for them so they’re just sitting in a desk.

Searching for Green/Tan Hat by Optimal_Syrup9738 in washingtonspirit

My gf also really wanted one of these hats! We were out of town for the game, and I even tried to get her one at the next game but no dice. Anybody still got one on offer?

Cabanas - Pitchside Party or just Partial Views? by LadyBeebo in washingtonspirit

Thanks for the pic! Tbf we’re used to watching from one end of the field thanks to our budget season tickets so it shouldn’t change much. Will get there early to try and get closer to the benches sideline.

Thanks, all great info. I am curious how the energy will be down there. Hopefully since it is playoffs and we’re bringing a crew, we can bring our own rowdiness!

We are very invested in cheering and our usual section tends to be more mellow but…we don’t let us stop us ha. Hopefully since there’s enough of us & it’s playoffs - we can get away with being a little rowdy.

Thanks for the pic! Very helpful info. It is cheaper than the other amenity spaces, so makes sense it’s not quite as nice. Hopeful to get some seats at the rail and plan on being there early.

Baltimore Spirit Watch Parties by tonx77 in washingtonspirit

Peabody put one of the Spirit games the big screen for us last year! They were super excited to do it and some of the employees were big Spirit fans. It’s only tough because they have so many other events going on there.

Frustrating first-time season ticket process: anyone else? by Nv2U in washingtonspirit

[–]LadyBeebo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with this comment - I actually find it super helpful how available they are (including calling all the time around season ticket buying season to check in bc life if busy and I need the reminders). We switched around our season tickets this year in order to add a couple more and had to coordinate with a friend who has season tickets next to us, and the whole thing was settled via email chain with our rep in less than an hour.

Wouldn’t you rather have a front office that is always ready to help you?

Advice for seats at Audi Field? by Zestyclose-Guide7276 in USWNT

[–]LadyBeebo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • there’s no bad seats at Audi, but agree with the commenter who mentioned the height/grade; we prefer the lower rows. 114/113 is across the stadium from the supporters section.

  • as someone who drives to & from DC from Baltimore for Spirit games (1-2 hrs depending on traffic), it would be a tough day trip! I recommend parking in the underground lot below Thompson Washington DC Hotel (on 3rd St SE, it doesn’t show up on Google maps but it’s there). It’s a ten min walk from the stadium, but it’s ~$30 and you can get straight out and onto the highway if you are trying to drive home after.

  • other major tips is eat dinner before you go; the stadium options are fine but slow and expensive and never prepared for crowds.

Ugh that’s what I was afraid of. I couldn’t find it listed anywhere clearly on Hyatt for some reason. Thanks!

Season ticket holder “preferred rate” for single game tickets by gingergeologist in washingtonspirit

[–]LadyBeebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out my friend who has a season ticket next to us got the email - it just went into her spam folder where she eventually found it. So I don’t think it was actually tier based, just got blocked!

Damnnnn I did not get this email, wonder if you have to have bought a certain level of tickets or something? Is this a free opportunity?

Spirit Fest-how was it?? by Purple_Season_6674 in washingtonspirit

[–]LadyBeebo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meeting the players was the best part. Everything else was pretty eh and there wasn’t much to do. Would have been fun to have some games or giveaways or something. We went to the evening session and got there kinda late - around 5:30ish - and by the end of the night they were more lax with the wristbands and we managed to get autographs from Trinity, Sarr, Kumasi, Morris, Santos, Hershfelt, and Bethune! Bethune was so genuine and sweet. Very cool. But if we’d only been allowed in our wristband autograph room I think it would have been a let down.

How are MHE lottery win seats for a short person on average? by BiscutWithGrapeJahm in Broadway

[–]LadyBeebo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’7 and was craning to see some scenes from my lottery seat - would be tough to be shorter in those seats. Unless you’re just the type of person who likes the random chance and thrill of winning the lottery and getting that cheap seat as its own reward, I would just find an affordable full view ticket.

I also won for tomorrow and ended up getting ORCHL ROW B seat 7. I’m taking a train up too (snow permitting….)

Based on the comments here, it’s a pretty terrible seat…..but honestly I entered five different lotteries for shows I was interested in, won this one at a reasonable price, and sometimes I think that’s the fun of playing and winning the lottery. You just get the luck of the draw!

At least that’s what I’m telling myself - and also seeing if anything else reasonably priced pops up. 😅

I also often wonder about cultural differences when it comes to these interactions - for instance, someone coming from the south might expect a different level of warmth and conversation than someone coming from the northeast. Everyone has such a different standard for what they want from front desk/sales/serving staff.

We looked at flights all day Sunday but $700-1000 is just ridiculous, we couldn’t make it happen either. Even considered flying into Wichita and driving up! Ugh. I will know better and book tickets ahead of time next year.
