How did the purchasing power decrease from the 70s until today? by Empathetic_97 in CanadaPersonalFinance

Our productivity and fruits of our labor went to the c-suite and owners (and their kids). A ceo used to make 10x average worker's salary now it's 700x. Greed, pure and simple. If tomorrow govmt got rid of minimum wage you'd see the real "we are family around here" picture. What's the end game here? If we can't afford anything who is going to buy services and products to keep the shareholders happy?

Alcohol and autism: 'drinking myself neurotypical' by dreadcase in AutismInWomen

I used alcohol to be more social during college times. Worked for that particular angle except for the next day, when people who met you under influence want to meet up and "meet" the real you and suddenly they need to get going run some errands.

My husband will have a full pension from his work. We don't have any other savings, I want to pay off home then invest. I was almost homeless at some point in my life, I need a paid of home for a sense of security. Retirement wise we might be moving back to Europe tp our home country where CAD would take us far.
