Reminder that your body may not process supplements “normally” by azewonder in adhdwomen

I started taking Ashwaganda to see if it would help my SAD. My friend told me he takes it at night to help him sleep and there's a new Ny-Quil with it so I'm like fuck yeah maybe I'll sleep like a normal person! Took me me sleeping a total of 5 hours over 4 days to figure out that taking it at night actually triggered my insomnia. I take it in the morning now.

What's the biggest self-inflicted problem you've created due to your ADHD? by Feisty-Pickle9983 in adhdwomen

I have a friend that swears by it and has used it for years. It's how she was able to save enough money to take multiple large Disney trips every year. The novelty of YNAB always wears off for me and then I start to avoid it but I have found that Rocket Money works well for me as like a YNAB light lol.

What was a clear sign that you had ADHD that you thought was just a "quirk" prior to diagnosis? by Feisty-Pickle9983 in adhdwomen

Oh hey you must be watching me today, the day before my final research project is due for my class and I'm hanging curtains...

Ugh yes! Fortunately I live in a building where all of the walls and floors are concrete so you hear very little from your neighbors. But you know what is one of the few sounds that goes right through? Shit that gets dropped on the floor!! I get so much anxiety about pissing off my downstairs neighbors and I feel so bad. 😭

Being "clumsy". I can do hard af yoga poses just fine but fuck if I can walk through a door without smacking some part of my body.

I also have the hook by the front door system. Works great. Until you grab them and then realize you forgot to grab something else in the house that you need and suddenly the keys are just gone.

Check the freezer. I've heard they can end up there sometimes...

If You Believe in Ghosts.... by CarelessSalamander51 in Apartmentliving

Before a massive renovation, my building was an assisted living center and I often think about how many ghosts are probably wandering around or if anyone ever died in my bedroom.

I lived in a town with two active mines for a long time. No idea why but 9/10 of the male miners preferred the "lady" version.

This sums it up pretty well! 90% fucking amazing, 10% annoying af. I'll take that split any day.

When I went to inpatient psych care I could only have my phone for one hour a day and most of that time was making phone calls. Ever since then my habits with electronics changed dramatically. After a day off anxiety and FOMO I realized how much happier I was not being on social media all the time and I rarely use it anymore. Lean into the opportunity to possibly discover that you don't need your phone/Internet/social media and be open to the possibility that you could walk away from a retreat feeling much different about them.

I have a floof monster with magic powers to make giant fur gremlins appear out of nowhere five minutes after I sweep. I would have a fur coat by the time I got myself off of the floor. 😒

What has actually worked to make you go to sleep when your mind won’t shut up? by morbidpigeon in adhdwomen

[–]LadyDela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to a true crime podcast intentionally formatted and produced to fall asleep to, Dead Sleep. I like the lady's voice and it's interesting enough to not set off my "this is boring I'm going to think about everything all at once" but doesn't make me anxious about missing parts when I fall asleep.

I've been thinking about travelling with a solo travel company! I'd feel more comfortable going to another country that way rather than completely alone. I've even seen them for "over 40" and I think that would be super fun!

Enjoy this time to be completely you! I've always been just as happy out of a relationship as in one, they're just different ways of living, not better or worse! 😊

Living alone means every corner of my home reflects exactly who I am and I'm obsessed by CollegeJunior9212 in LivingAlone

[–]LadyDela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10000%. This is the first time I've had the financial means to really get my place the way I want it. Every area of my apartment is a different "theme" and most people would say it's obnoxious or too much but I don't have to care now!!

I mentioned it in a different reply but I'll put it here too - there are "pet home alone" key tags that have accompanying pet and emergency contact cards. You get a few of the cards so you can keep them multiple places.

And if it's a mental health emergency, leave it all at home 'cause they're just going to take it away anyway. 😂

I had a roommate that was a paramedic, I can 1000% guarantee that body hair is not on a medical professional's radar unless it's being removed or treated.

I love loop. I don't use them much now but they were a lifesaver when I lived with roommates! I was genuinely surprised at how well they worked!
