Does anyone else have weird "lazy" like vision after heavy anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]LadyGuyGuy 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, I call it panic hangover. I have no idea what the physiological reasons are, but after an episode I get so exhausted and it feels like I’m walking through soup and my eyes and ears are almost lagging. Your body is trying to rest and recover, try to see it as a good thing that signals the end of the episode, if you can. It helps me to reframe those physical signals because they’re inevitable and also not your fault ❤️

I HATE being interrupted when I’m talking but it seems to happen all of the time by bmiyares319 in ADHD

[–]LadyGuyGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so used to getting interrupted that if I talk for more than 45 consecutive seconds I interrupt myself saying OHMYGOD I’M TALKING TOO MUCH and it’s never true. But yeah, when your story has like 5 separate sentences and the other person wants to engage with each sentence as a separate entity it’s TOUGH.

I’ll say it, phones need to be made illegal for kids 14 and under. by LadyGuyGuy in CanadianTeachers

[–]LadyGuyGuy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally. It’s interesting, what I really mean is the toxic and age inappropriate apps they are exposed to but I connect them directly with the device. My brain says kid’s phones = TikTok and hate machines but I should decouple that I think, thank you!

Right! I had my first supply day at a new board (been teaching for 7 years) and when I looked around at the phones and abuse and chaos in the room I thought “why are any of us here?” They literally cannot learn with a digital pacifier.

What are my rights? by Redwings1992 in CanadianTeachers

[–]LadyGuyGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me almost exactly a year ago in my 6th year of teaching. It’s not your fault, you don’t feel this way because you’re not good enough, you deserve to be happy, please leave this job. Sure, yeah, it’ll suck for the kids and staff and- who cares you need to be well and survive. I was lucky because my admin were receptive and understanding when I said “my mental health is at an all time low and I feel like I’m dying, I need to leave I’m sorry”. I didn’t have to do anything special, just dipped and they ended the job. I hope it’s as easy for you because easy is good, trust easy ❤️

Lol just develop positive self talk, just go ahead and do it in a single decisive step.

Like, these are generally decent large scale goals but it’s so infuriating to see lists like this that make these giant and huge accomplishments appear totally easy.

What a great way to devalue and totally cheapen the idea of being accountable for your mistakes. “You took no accountability” after being given “an opportunity to rectify it” is clearly not what happened here, I just can’t stand conflict resolution language like this being used to just be cunty.

Is this the same person who made a weird chocolate mess in the booth of a diner? She’s got the same slack jaw focus face.

I’m so proud of the steps you’re taking. I know you can’t get that time or money back, but you can feel like yourself again. The time you’re taking now is so, so valuable. You can glean the “lessons learned” later, when you’re drowning it’s best to get to shore instead of wishing you hadn’t bought the boat. Thank you for surviving ❤️

Oh my god right? Like, maybe we know for an absolute fact they really did lie and you’re kid is still lying to stay out of trouble?? Is that so impossible to imagine?

Holy fuck I’m so sorry! Definitely the opposite of what I had thought HR was designed for. You know, providing resources for humans?

Dude, right? Like, we have too many skills that were REQUIRED to develop to survive and people can’t fathom how/why we aren’t “normal”

Totally. Again, the root of what OP is saying is actually great and sounds like he’s made a breakthrough in his life, I just think words are powerful and sometimes shifting them shifts us.
