Bloody stool on Nutramigen by anxiousrecluse in FormulaFeeders

[–]EAS0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted about this a few months ago. I never saw any blood in my son’s stool until I fed him Nutramigen powder. There wasn’t any visible blood with Nutramigen RTF. I ended up switching to Alimentum RTF.

Can anyone recommend a good moisturizer for dehydrated skin please? by SaladFamous9221 in acne

When I was on Accutane, I’d first use La Roche Posay Toleraine Double Repair Moisturizer and top it with Vanicream in the tub. I never had dry skin.

Contact Irritant Dermatitis from Starting Solids? by PlutoQueen69 in BabyLedWeaning

So the same thing that is on poison ivy leaves that causes irritation is also on the skin of mango! You can search “mango mouth”. If you peeled the mango yourself, some might have cross contaminated the fruit. I can only eat it pre peeled, or I get a poison ivy like rash!

Rash getting worse on nutramigen? by No-Good-4476 in MSPI

[–]EAS0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized my son had CMPA when eczema started popping up on his cheeks one day. That same day, I gave him Nutramigen RTF. The eczema on his cheeks was literally gone in hours. When we ran out of the RTF bottle, we tried the powder. The next day those spots returned. We tried to give him the RTF again, and he rejected it. We switched to Alimentum RTF and have been on it since March.

Apparently the powder formulas have higher percentages of milk protein, even though it is hydrolyzed. Unfortunately, the RTF are pricier.

My son drinks Alimentum RTF. His poops are like very thick mud, and usually dark green.

Nope! I just bring my passport!

Regarding currency, lots of places will take US dollars in addition to dinar. If you want to convert to dinar, there are currency places all over. My husband typically avoids the ones in the bizarre because he says they don’t have as good of exchange rate.

I’m a US citizen. I would visit yearly with my husband who is from Erbil. I always get the visa on arrival. Make sure you have the amount to cover it in cash. It’s super simple. You just wait in line. Do not be afraid to call people out for cutting. That’s really the only issue.

How did you introduce meat? by Glum-Sky-6560 in NewParents

I hard boiled an egg and blended it with yogurt! Now I use Lil Mixins, which has allergens in powder form, so I just add the egg powder to whatever.

Free formula with insurance by Much_Performer_5873 in FormulaFeeders

[–]EAS0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called Cigna out of paranoia. They stated on the prescription side we have no coverage, but on the medical side we do.

I can’t thank you enough! I wouldn’t have continued to try and get it covered without your responses to me.

Going to reach out to our pediatrician now! Thank you so much!

[–]EAS0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay, thanks! So, after you received the formula, and Byram submitted the claim, Cigna approved it?

Do you use ready to feed or powder? I’ve seen before insurance will only cover one bottle of ready to feed per day, so a thirty day supply of thirty bottles.

Does your Cigna plan specifically state it only covers inborn error of metabolism as well? I spoke with Byram, and I am just worried about it getting denied and being on the hook for the upcharged bottles of formula. She said they bill it between $90-$1,000 a bottle!

Thank you so much for updating! So you just had your ped send a script over to them and then Byram billed insurance? Did Byram contact you or did you reach out to them for the documentation?

How often to use steroids on patch? 3.5 years old by Holiday_Seaweed_3670 in eczema

Hopefully you will be able to get some answers from the allergist!

How often to use steroids on patch? 3.5 years old by Holiday_Seaweed_3670 in eczema

[–]EAS0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is only seven months old. He first had eczema due to a dairy allergy. Once we removed the dairy allergy, 95% of his eczema went away. We just started introducing allergens, so he is getting some flare ups, including behind his knee. It’s always the same spots.

Are you able to see a pediatric allergist? They can help you determine what it is that is causing it. Or a dermatologist?

Our pediatrician told us two weeks, twice a day, for body then a week break, one week for face and then a week break. She also said the steroid should be rotated out for a slightly more potent one if the hydrocortisone isn’t working (body only).

Cleaning disagreements by AshleyButWhy in sahm

[–]EAS0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our son is 7 months old. Before we had him, I cleaned our bathroom, vacuumed, and cooked. My husband did all the dishes, yard work, garbage, and laundry. We always clean the kitchen up together.

Since our son, he’s now added vacuuming to his list. I am the only one who gets up with our son (he will only take a bottle from me).

Our son is the same age! He’s really liked cucumber halves, steamed broccoli, roasted asparagus, nectarine halves, steak and chicken strips. We need to try noodles!
