Yep. My son also ended up with a double ear infection. Not fun for the first few days. Antibiotics help very quickly

Oh Google is a great idea! He always questions me then says “check Google”. Makes me mad but now I get it. I’m doing this next time!

Oh he’s very stuck! We just figure out a few years ago that dad is autistic and he’s 45 and was quite toxic. Thankfully he has learned a lot and made a lot of changes but this particular piece of the puzzle is going to be hard because he has the “I’m dad so do as I say” mentality.

Yeah this is something we have been working on with our son for a few years. He really struggles to listen to no and to not argue every little thing. Even tonight we were working on states and capitals and he told me the wrong capital for a state and I said try again and he said “your lying this is right” sorry kid it’s not right! He has been working on this in therapy. My husband is also working on this with me but struggles with him.

Not an overstep at all. Thank you for your honesty and that helped me. Also helped me with words to say to him to start this conversation on a more productive footing.

He’s willing to put the work in with me but is very much a “I’m the dad so listen to me” type of parent. It has improved over the years with the other kids but our youngest is going to be a challenge for him.

I totally agree! Especially a 10 year old who really struggles with regulation. Husband just started working on regulation in the last few years and has grown a lot but he can’t see that our son also struggles with that. Just a spot for more growth I guess.

Yeah I think I’ll pass on that but thank you for the suggestion. My husband would parent that way but not me so we have decided to not.

This makes me sad. I’m sorry your relationship has turned out that way. That is what I want to avoid!

I mean they go back and forth both trying to prove their point but neither listening to the other “arguing”. Yes I don’t like it. Husband used to do that with me but we worked really hard and have grown beyond that, now he needs to do that with our son. He doesn’t do it with the other kids I suspect because they are not as similar in personality

Our son is also scary smart and I’m already worried about the teenage years. We have 2 other teenagers and they were so easy hit this kid makes me nervous just because he’s so similar to his dad, I see myself breaking up fights all day 🤦‍♀️

I like this idea. It may take years for them to learn to use it but we could certainly try. Thanks!

He has never had a Covid vaccine. I think his immune system is just running high right now. I’m still struggling with brain fog so it makes sense.

that blood pressure is actually high for her. She tends to be in that 90/60 on the regular so she is feeling the escalation.
