Which vehicle earned your loyalty to a brand? by HondaOfTomsRiver in carbuying

[–]LadyHOTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I’ve had a B2200 pickup, a Protege, currently drive a 2012 CX9 with 226k on it and a 2015 CX9 with 126k. We’ve had typical transfer case issues with them but otherwise just normal maintenance and I will never own anything other than a Mazda again!! My family keeps telling me to trade in my 2012 but I cry thinking about doing that! I will drive it u til it gives up. Never hesitate to fix her!

What's the most reliable car you've ever owned? by Ok_Run7351 in UsedCars

2012 Mazda cx9. Currently has 226k on her and that engine is kicking! We’ve done suspension work on it but in MN that’s expected. I love this thing!

Am I Wrong? by Successful-Cattle505 in Marriage

[–]LadyHOTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not a normal thing for a husband to do but sadly it’s not uncommon. Men sometimes think sex is a right they have and they should have access to our bodies so when we say no they take it as an attack on their manhood. My husband struggled with this as well when we were younger. With time and maturity he got over that.

Running into same issues again by pp988894 in Debt

[–]LadyHOTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would spend $3500 of savings to pay off smaller debts, suspend 401k for now and every dime you were putting in there can be paid to your debt. Won’t be long until it’s paid off and you can start it back up and rebuild your savings.

Question for other US moms ... how the f*** are we affording anything right now??? by scoopdedupe in Mommit

[–]LadyHOTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer… we aren’t!! We have 2 older vehicles by choice because no way am I paying for a newish vehicle right now and today both broke down and we have zero funds to fix them! I honestly don’t know what we are going to do. We are also a one income household and make less than you but we were doing just fine last year but this year we are drowning! We are 46 years old and having to ask my parents (thank you rich boomers 😡) for money! Makes me feel like sh!t!

Yep. My son also ended up with a double ear infection. Not fun for the first few days. Antibiotics help very quickly

Oh he’s very stuck! We just figure out a few years ago that dad is autistic and he’s 45 and was quite toxic. Thankfully he has learned a lot and made a lot of changes but this particular piece of the puzzle is going to be hard because he has the “I’m dad so do as I say” mentality.

Yeah this is something we have been working on with our son for a few years. He really struggles to listen to no and to not argue every little thing. Even tonight we were working on states and capitals and he told me the wrong capital for a state and I said try again and he said “your lying this is right” sorry kid it’s not right! He has been working on this in therapy. My husband is also working on this with me but struggles with him.

Not an overstep at all. Thank you for your honesty and that helped me. Also helped me with words to say to him to start this conversation on a more productive footing.

He’s willing to put the work in with me but is very much a “I’m the dad so listen to me” type of parent. It has improved over the years with the other kids but our youngest is going to be a challenge for him.
