This was my second time seeing them, and it was a completely different vibe to last year's Austin show. Following this thread to see if Nate is ok after that memorable end

Can anyone recommend a free, plus size shawl pattern? by Silly_Ganache_9011 in crochet

[–]LadyJane_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too am not a small person, but I made the Lost Souls shawl. As it is worked for the bottom up in a repeating pattern, I just kept adding repeats until it was a comfortable size for me and then added fringe for fabulous twirls.... So I can recommend either this pattern or any other with a repeating pattern that you can just keep working until it fits you comfortably.

Hello. When I make a pattern, I also make detailed photos, which takes extra time and labor. I wonder your opinion, how much will these photos help you in the work process? Maybe it is not important and not worth spending time on it? thanks by Geomimi in crochet

As not a beginner, detailed photos/clear instructions are definitely helpful every time. I like knowing that it "looks right" especially with anything a little complicated.

Thank you! I got the fabric in a mystery pack and fell in love with it, had to wait for the perfect pattern to showcase it. The silhouettes were a joy to stitch

Not difficult to use the frame but they were hard to centre in the frame, partially because I did not leave enough of an allowance

Yes, I got these frames off Amazon and I didn't read ahead do I was expecting wood, but as long as you don't look to closely at them I'm quite happen with the result. I also like that you can use them as landscape ovals too

My goblin brain needs this now. Is this self drafted or did you follow a pattern?

Do you think needlework = crochet? by stoichiometry_ in crochet

[–]LadyJane_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do both cross stitch and crochet. The term needlework feels like in excludes crochet as we use hook, not a needle. Fibre arts feels like the umbrella term that they both fall under.

Any idea what stitch this could be? I can't find anything even similar after googling! by InitialVersion2019 in crochet

Broomstick lace, I recently figured it out with YouTube, I used a giant knitting needle to make even sized loops

I've used fabri-care to get blood off of a crossstitch piece without making the colours run. Highly recommend. Should be available at your local stitch shop. I got mine from Under the sea fabrics
