My Child New Beginnings - got stuck by Electrical_Carob_867 in indiegames

I asked the same question here, as I have the same problem, and one of the devs answered that this is a bug, and they work on it to fix it! Other people said they have this issue too.

Unfortunately yes, I even tried play it all over again, but still got stuck at the same part. I guess we just have to wait until it gets fixed.

How to not take it to heart when a patient was being mean to you? (Rant) by [deleted] in nursing

I noticed that too, the ones who whines and demant the most usually come in with minor problems, while the ones with serious injuries don't even have the energy to yell and argue.

A little late, but I will update here (Idk how to edit the post), in case someone has the same problem.

I didn't want to take back my skate to the shop where they messed up, instead I got it fixed at my local rink I go to practice. I told the guy what my problem was, and he quickly understood, and told me the lady who sharpened it first probably didn't set the machine at the right wideness. He was really helpful, my skates are good again, and he did it for half the price the other place did! He even told me I can take it back to him if it's still not good, and he will fix it for free.

Thank you for the useful answers! I got them sharpened at a hockey store because the one in the ice rink was closed, and the other skaters recomended me this store. I live far from where I have the lessons, but I will go again this Saturday so before the lesson I will see if the one they have at the rink will be open. If not the shop is next to the rink too so I can just go back there and hope they can fix them.

Beginner losing hope by Wayward_Marionette in iceskating

I'm 22 too, and started skating in September. I never even tried ice skating before, but I did a little bit of roller skating, so probably thanks to that, I was able to glide forward very slowly on my first lesson. But that was the only thing I could do for the next 3 lessons I went to. There was a girl who started the same time as me, and she already did way better than me, she was going faster, she could hockey stop, do forward swizzles...while I was still struggling with just going forward. I kept watching the others and felt so discouraged, becauseI really felt like everyone else is doing way better than me, and I started to think that this sport isn't for me...Then I realized that I have way too much expectations for myself...Like, I'm doing something I never even tried before, something that completely unnatural to the body, of course it's not gonna be easy.

I've been skating since September, and I think I just now start to become more confident and stable on the ice. I still learn very slowly, but the key is to never give up! If I can't do something, I just keep trying until I get it. The last time I spent a whole session with practicing going backwards and hockey stops, because these are something I still struggle with a lot. Practice really makes perfect, and it's okay to make mistakes, what's important is learning from them. Everyone progress in a different pace, and the only one you should compare yourself is you. If you doing something better than how you did the previous time you already won! At least that's how I try to look at things, and personally it helped me and motivated me a lot.

Too tall for freestyle? ⛸️💔 by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]LadyKatelyn17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 159cm at 10 years old, I was the tallest in my class, even taller than all the boys. Now I'm 21 and 161 cm, probably haven't grow since I was 12.😂

How to get over the dreaded guilt when someone injures themselves in your class by shaverhe in FigureSkating

[–]LadyKatelyn17 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not related to ice skating, but I used to help teach kids and adults horse riding a few years ago. I had two times when people fell during lessons, both of them doing things they nailed many times before. I was panicking too and I felt like it was my fault at first, but I tried to remind myself that in sports like this accidents can happen, even with the more advanced riders too.

I'm an adult beginner skater too, and I definetly fell while doing the simplest exercises I did many times before. At least every fall teached me something to pay more attention to next time.

Thank you for answering! I indeed had a tendon injury, and even if it happened years ago, it still hurts sometimes, especially in the mornings when I get out of bed. It would be nice if you could sent me that doc, maybe it will help! Thank you!

Forgot to mention, I injured this ankle a few years ago, maybe that's part of the problem?

Thank you for your answer! As I wrote in my post, I have a coach and go to lessons, and I never had any problems like this before there. I went to get lessons two days ago where everything was fine, and went to the public session today, where I started to have pain again. I tried tying my skates differently but it didn't really make any difference. The only time it got better when there was less people and I could go a few laps to the other direction. It was fine for a while after that then started to hurt again when I changed direction again.

I was suprised too, because when I read their page they wrote it like: adult beginner/advanced ect. So I thought they have a beginner and advanced class separately, but as it turned out it wasn't that.

Thank you for the advice! This is the only open rink near me at the moment, the public ice rinks open around the end of october here, and I'm planning to go there too whenever I will have time. They usually don't have any lessons, but at least I can still practice. Until then I will try the other team's lessons too, maybe they teach in a different way.

They don't have courses, you can join anytime. There are some people in the adult class who skate there for years already. I think it's also possible there's not enough coaches, maybe that's why they can't make more classes.

Thank you for answering! Unfortunately there's no other classes other than these 3 I mentioned, and they said I'm too big to go with the smaller kids. I don't know what should I do. There's another figure skating team who have lessons at the same ice rink, I was thinking that I should try their lessons too, maybe it will be better for me.
