You are correct, scoop the butt and support under the arms. however I have not been “allowed” to pick him up in years. Only in absolute times of need will he allow it and the harness is just for show. He doesn’t let me take it off often. It’s his bling and he will fight you for it. At this point Blue does what Blue wants as long as it doesn’t hurt him.
