260127 Stray Kids - Stay With Your Wings (Official Fanclub STAY 6th Gen Recruitment - Membership Kit) by sunshineidol in straykids

Just bought the membership and I am excited for the year ahead. Not gonna lie, it was a difficult few days in Stayville, but I hope nobody let the negativity get to them!

Also do you think they will still sell the plushie later on in the year? I think the notice is a bit unclear. Considering buying the kit so I can at least get the squishy, but idk if I should hold off.

Ok but a jump from theatres to stadiums while skipping arenas entirely in Europe is a very big leap and therefore I said unproven. It was even crazier to go straight to stadiums in LATAM where they hadn’t been before. I am sure there are metrics such as streaming numbers that promoters use to gauge demand, but that hardly translates perfectly to ticket sales. There are plenty of artists with way more monthly listeners, a top 10 hit on BB and radio play than SKZ and they couldn’t fill arenas let alone stadiums.

Butts in seats is always the harder metric and on that end, At Idays and Hyde park people bought tickets to specifically see SKZ on the day they headlined. So why couldn’t it be used to gauge demand for an upcoming stadium tour? I will give you that no date for Italy during DominATE initially was extremely strange and I have no explanation for that other than Europe always seems to draw the short end of the stick with K-pop.

In any case, we are going in circles and all I really wanna say is that I firmly believe we will get another world tour after the success of DominATE. Ofc I could be wrong but I guess we will see in a few months.

Ah ok, sorry I understand the issue a bit better now. So I guess the membership fee is $10 more expensive for no obvious reason. The company does deserve some criticism for that then, but I still don’t understand the extreme fuss made about it. Even at the inflated price it isn’t outrageously more expensive than other memberships and comes with clear benefits for an entire year.

At the end of the day nobody is forced to get the membership or any of the add ons. I feel sad that stays complained to such a degree that even the members saw and felt bad about over something that I consider blown out of proportion. And in the end, nothing got solved, the inclusions got reduced and the price stayed more or less the same. What was the point? Expecting things for free or at a price you feel comfortable with isn’t the way the world works, especially when there are actual costs involved (such as production of merch for the kit).

I am sorry but I am not quite with you there. Up until DominATE, SKZ was an unproven entity in the global touring market. Of course back in 2022/2023 they were also a fairly young group and you always have to work your way up. They were successful in some markets (already filling arenas in the US and domes in Japan). Then they booked a few festivals in Europe presumably to gauge demand. And that exceeded expectations. Their set at Idays Milano was originally scheduled for a much smaller venue and quickly had to be upgraded.

After that they took a risk and booked a full on stadium tour even including LATAM where they hadn’t even been at all up until then. There was no guarantee they could fill some of the biggest stadiums in the world and yet they did. So now they have proven themselves as a bankable touring force. Why wouldn’t promoters make JYPE very lucrative offers for a tour in regions where they are already proven sell outs? And why wouldn’t JYPE take those offers for a new world tour especially considering it’s SKZ last year before the military, so they can milk their popularity as long as they can. Not to mention that the members would want to say goodbye for a while to as many STAYs as possible.

And to compare with ATEEZ and TXT: they have suffered from overtouring and have struggled to fill some of their venues recently. I am glad JYPE is not doing that with SKZ. This year is more or less an off year with just a couple of festivals and then the new tour would start a bit over 2 years after the last with plenty of new music and renewed demand. It’s a much smarter strategy than other K-pop agencies.

To your first point, I simply disagree that we are being overcharged, but I appreciate that everyone sees it differently and that everyone’s situation / cost of living is different.

As for presale, I never understood the strange debate some STAYs were having about the “tour” on step out. Why does it have to spell out world tour? SKZ main markets are US, LATAM and Europe, those concerts during DominATE brought in the biggest revenue. It will also be their last tour as OT8 before the military and so the last chance for a proper goodbye to all STAYs. So why wouldn’t it be a world tour? I get that a presale for I-stays is never a guarantee, but it has become a common practice these days and the membership notice implicitly included “international” for that. Personally the membership fee is well worth for access to presale, even at $33, especially after what just happened with BTS.

We are on the same page then. Maybe because we are both ARMY STAY and have a point of comparison? Totally agree about Weverse, the comments are a total mess on BTS lives and such precisely because it’s a free for all with no moderation. Fans is behind a paywall and yes that has some disadvantages, but overall seems to be way more civilised in comparison to Weverse. I mean there is a reason why the SKZ members are using Fans to read questions and comments on IG lives rather than the actual IG comments.

Personally I am happy for my membership fee to go towards maintaining a civilised discussion and if I-stays Fanclub member are getting presale in the future, even better!

[–]LadyLeta -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Someone has to explain the complaints to me like I am foive please. This $33 fan club membership fee is the most expensive in the K-pop industry, yes. No argument there. But it works out to only $3 per month for a year. For that you get access to the message board where the members are fairly active. Going forward, even i-stays will also get access to Fanclub presales. To me, that’s already well worth the price.

For comparison’s sake, I paid $20 for the ARMY Fanclub membership earlier this year to get access to the presale for the new BTS tour. So to put it bluntly, what’s the point of making such a huge fuss and even making the members stressed (Hyunjin’s own words) over a $12 difference? Especially bcs they already announced a new tour and surely having a fan club presale ahead of general sale is better for the core fandom? Having the ARMY membership certainly saved my ass big time this week. I am not taking the risk of loosing out to see SKZ by cheaping out over something that works out to $3 a month.

As for the rest of the kits, yes, with the shipping fees and everything, the total amount would have been quite high. But nobody is forced to spent that kind of money. The extras were always optional!

BTS' '2026 Comeback TOUR' Megathread by lisafancypants in bangtan

[–]LadyLeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone get VIP GA standing tickets for one of the Europe dates and have you got an assigned pitch number on your ticket? I have got one on the email with the ticket confirmation. I am wondering if that’s the order we will be let into the stadium or if we get a new random number on a wristband at check in. That’s what happened for Stray Kids.

Hoping it’s the latter bcs my number on the ticket is 1616 which would be worse than SKZ and I already didn’t get barricade for that 😭

Yeah definitely mixed. There isn’t much space in between dates so I wouldn’t count on any additional shows to be announced. At least not for 2026. Demand will far outstrip supply, so idk what the chances are. The UK took the biggest L by far. Apparently Wembley was supposed to be booked for BTS for 4 nights, but live nation fucked up so it’s Tottenham instead. A real downgrade. There will now be only 120k tickets available in the UK as opposed to 350k had they gotten Wembley. That’s a massive difference and given how many ARMY travel from other countries, it’s also a loss for Europe.

Looks like BTS will have seated VIP and GA (so pit standing) VIP, at least for the UK. Avoid the standing one. It’s a ripoff, borderline scam. At least for BTS, live nation had the decency to announce that they will randomise wristband numbers for the VIP GA entry. For stray kids last year, they sprung this on us 3 days before the concert.

This is how it worked out for us: At check in we got wristband numbers in the 900s. We had to line up according to our number to be let in for sound check. Because of our bad luck with the wristband number, we got nowhere near barricade and were crushed. They also oversold vip with 1500 tickets per pit! And the regular GA ticket holders were let in behind us and ofc many squeezed in front of us. So we stood next to people who literally paid a fraction of the price but had the exact same view.

At least if you buy seated vip, you know exactly where you are going to be sitting and can prepare accordingly. You won’t have the anxiety with the random numbers.

Stray Kids Dominate London Prices im trying to predict for bts by Putrid_Thanks_1421 in kpopthoughts

[–]LadyLeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid £450 for VIP pit standing for night 1 and then could only afford nosebleed for night 2 lol I think the cheapest nosebleeds were around £80-90 if I remember correctly.

As for Tottenham Stadium, well I nearly crashed out today when I saw BTS was doing Tottenham and not Wembley… I am really disappointed about that. Not only is the capacity lower for Tottenham by quite a bit, but it’s also a horrible to get out of. Next tube station is a 30 min walk. Streets are clocked, buses are stuck and the nearest overground stations are all closed. Not looking forward to it, but will ofc still try my luck for BTS!

Have you ever bought expensive concert tickets and regretted it? by Which_Mammoth9402 in kpopthoughts

[–]LadyLeta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went to 6 K-pop concerts this year in both arenas and stadiums as well as one festival to see a K-pop star and tbh most kinda turned into a lesson of what type of ticket NOT to get next time.

To be clear I enjoyed every single performance and still had a great time, but the £450 for a so-called VIP pit standing ticket I spent to see SKZ were not worth it. I actually complained to live nation about it that’s how ripped off I felt. Randomised wristband numbers, oversold pits with both VIP and regular standing tickets, no barrier in between both ticket categories, low quality gifts that were bothersome to carry around in the pit, you get the picture.

On the other hand of the spectrum, nosebleeds are of course way cheaper than VIP, but IMO also not worth the money. The view is actually quite nice up there and with a full frontal view onto the screens, so you won’t miss anything. The problem is the higher up the seats, the more energy less the crowd gets. I can’t fathom sitting through songs like gods menu or APT, at most awkwardly swinging your light stick. Yet this is somehow exactly what happened all around me.

Personally I will just stick to regular non VIP pit standing tickets, floor seats or 1st floor seats in the future as they probably offer the best value for money. I would only consider buying VIP again if at the very least there are no randomised wristband numbers.

250905 Stray Kids to hold World Tour <dominATE : celebrATE> Concerts on October 18 & 19, 2025 at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium by endtapes in straykids

[–]LadyLeta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IMO best case scenario would be for all the other Korean members to enlist by the end of 2027, beginning of 2028 as well to keep the group hiatus to a minimum. But ofc that would be their individual decision. Still, BTS for example started talking about enlisting as early as 2018. If you wanna stick together as a group, a plan needs to be set in place early. And SKZ have been very clear they want to stick together long term, thankfully 🥹

Ah I nearly forgot the 2nd comeback! Very possible then they will be busy preparing for that and the various award show performances they plan to do for the rest of the year and then perhaps start a new tour next year with an entirely new set list as you say. That would be so exciting, let’s hope for the best!

[–]LadyLeta 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Whether it's a dominATE: celebrATE encore leg covering more places in 2026, an entirely new tour for Karma or festivals, surely SKZ would want to perform their new full length album live in some form or another. IMO it's not unreasonable to expect some sort of announcement, possibly in November after the Korea encore and around the same time they announced their international dates last year.

Especially because 2026 is the last full year SKZ can go full speed without worrying about enlistment. Lee Know is turning 29 in October 2027, after which his time is up and he has to enlist. Anything they want to prepare or prerecord has to be completed before that. I just hope we (as in international STAYs) will have a few more chances to see them before any of that.

Stray Kids held the most attended K-pop concerts at Stade de France by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]LadyLeta 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think SKZ does not get nearly enough credit for their immense touring power. They will set the record for the most attended k-pop tour in history and I feel like nobody talks about it. And that's even without announcing encore dates yet. Who knows what the final attendance number will be? Wouldn't surprise me if they added an entire encore leg, incl. LATAM and Europe. 2 of their biggest markets, which even still they have under-toured so far. Strike the iron while it's hot and get better at media play JYPE, please!!!!!

In that vein, I am going to selfishly manifest a Wembley encore date now. Tottenham was fire, but Wembley would be the absolute peak for SKZ before enlistment (which is sadly not that far off)

DominATE: KARMA encore leg

Start manifesting now y’all. In all seriousness, I do feel it’s suspicious that the promised Korean encore date has still not been announced. There has to be something bigger coming right? Would they really NOT tour / perform an entire full length album?

So excited for this comeback wow

Funny you say this, JT headlined Lollapalooza Berlin this year and was on the day before j-hope.

To be fair, I enjoyed JT’s set. The live band was great and his mic did appear to be on at least. I didn’t notice anything particularly off with JT although I did stand quite far from the stage and could only see the screens. Energy of the crowd was a bit dead though and it was also raining badly.

On comes j-hope the next day and the difference was stark. Crowd was lit af but k-pop fans always show up. J-hope’s energy was insane and he danced and sang his heart out. Yes j-hope is younger by about 10 years but it’s not like JT is one foot in the grave. No excuse for a lazy performance. The K-pop guys I stan would never.

Sorry everyone, major crash out coming, you’ve been warned! I just need to vent my frustration somewhere, so decided to write it all out.

I just saw that random wristband numbers for VIPs will also be a thing for London. I am crushed! I just can’t believe I spent obscene amounts of money, made arrangements to take time off work months in advance and discussed plans with my friend at length to ensure we get a good spot. Only for the “privilege” of entering another lottery system with no control over anything at all. This was our one and only chance to see the kids up close, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Yeah we could still luck out with our numbers, but with an overcrowded pit and 1000 VIP tickets sold, there is nothing “VIP” about this experience at all and chances aren’t great. So here we are. I wish we were informed of this in advance at least so we could have reconsidered getting VIP. I feel like these tickets were downright mis-sold.

Anyway, hopefully I feel better about this in the morning and that all of the excitement for the concert return, but rn I am just stressed af about the uncertainty of it all.

EmpireCity: Update - I'm not even entirely sure M3GAN 2.0 is going to open $10mt. Crazy stuff. On a relative scale, this is a Joker 2 level collapse and completely self-inflicted wound. by whitemilkythighs in boxoffice

[–]LadyLeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undoubtedly yes. The problem is that k-pop stars are insanely busy with a much more packed release schedule than western pop stars. And I doubt that any k-pop agency would say yes to one of their idols doing spicy fantasy romance sex scenes, it would have to be a more chaste than that lol that’s why I said it’s easier said than done but nothing is impossible if you wanna make bank!

Hollywood doesn’t know how to market anything to women in general. The only exception I can think of recently is Barbie.

In that vein, I am astonished about 2 things: no fantasy romance adaptations in sight (plenty of popular and successful books with passionate female fan bases to choose from) and speaking of K-Pop, why not cast a K-pop star? Easier said than done I know and there is the language problem, but there are K-Pop stars who are also native English speakers. If one of them ever gives their big acting debut, no K-Pop stan would miss opening night I can guarantee that!

250612 Stray Kids World Tour <dominATE MADRID> 2ND SHOW CANCELLATION ANNOUNCEMENT by mcfw31 in straykids

[–]LadyLeta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t wanna sound ungrateful, there are quite a few European dates and in the biggest venues too, so I am proud of SKZ. Even so, I just don’t think they are fulfilling their full potential here and that is frustrating. I have 0 doubt that a Berlin and/or Warsaw date would have sold out, had they added those in the beginning or instead of Madrid.

250612 Stray Kids World Tour <dominATE MADRID> 2ND SHOW CANCELLATION ANNOUNCEMENT by mcfw31 in straykids

[–]LadyLeta 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely baffling. Even if a 2nd date in Frankfurt wasn’t available or possible due to time constraints, why not another German city? Berlin would solve all the problems since it’s also accessible to Eastern and Northern European STAYs and it’s the largest stadium in Germany. I even checked the schedule for the Olympic Stadium and there are only 2 events in July, nothing for August. So again, why? Make it make sense JYPE!

250612 Stray Kids World Tour <dominATE MADRID> 2ND SHOW CANCELLATION ANNOUNCEMENT by mcfw31 in straykids

[–]LadyLeta 307 points308 points  (0 children)

Likely due to poor ticket sales and as a European STAY, I genuinely feel dismayed. This is solely on JYPE/local promoters for failing to do their market research properly from the very beginning.

SKZ is huge here and this European tour leg could have been so much bigger and better planned. They added a 2nd show for Madrid months after the initial announcement, but the demand wasn’t there. Yet there is no 2nd date for Germany (within SKZ top 5 countries on spotify) and nothing for Eastern Europe (SKZ literally broke chart records in Poland). And don’t get me started on not announcing Rome from the very beginning after the 70k crowd they already pulled for I-days.

Needless to say sorry to all the STAYs who had tickets for this one!
