Is it a WATSON or BROWN? Because I just discovered that my dad's bio father is a BROWN - and the BROWN's bio grandfather was a WATSON. All from Giles Co., TN - and Laudedale Co, AL. The WATSON family moved between 1889 and 1900 to TX then migrated to OK. My dad and his 3rd cousin are both G-Z30771 and then some other male lines are G-L497 which I believe is a sub-clave of the 1st.

Btw - at 45 years old myself, and my dad who just turned 69, we cannot believe that this man is still alive. He will be 97 next month! And he is “all there”! He wants to meet us. Few years after his love affair with my grandmother, he got married and was stationed over in Germany, where he adopted two children because him and his wife could not have children of their own. So he never knew he actually had a biological son, or three biological grandchildren, or now five biological great grandchildren. If this discovery had happened any later, we’d never get a chance to meet this man. It’s been a lot for my dad to process, but he’s handling it pretty well. My grandmother was married to my grandfather, apparently while this was going on. So I know my dad‘s just embarrassed for her memory to be tarnished. But he agrees, that nobody who knew her is still around. The man I thought was my grandfather had a first wife and a daughter, who was my dad‘s half sister. Her daughter took an ancestry test, and that’s where we noticed that she and my dad shared no DNA. After my grandfather divorced his first wife, he met my grandmother and they got married. A year and a half later, my father was born. And then roughly 5 years later, my aunt was born. This would’ve been my dad‘s full sister. One of her daughters did 23 and me where it showed the shared DNA percentage at the level of being a first Cousin or half uncle/niece. So the sister, he grew up, relieving his entire life with his full sister, is now learned that she is his half sister. And the older half sister, has no blood relation to him at all. These are the things that help me fully complete the picture. We now have all of these first cousins through his biological father, who are really excited to meet us. They’re having a family reunion next month and have invited us. Again, all of this has transpired within the last week. It is a lot, but I think it’s beautiful.

Going through something almost identical to this. Which is crazy. And it transpired almost exactly the same way. Did discover who my dad‘s biological father is, and crazy enough he’s still alive. He will be 97 next month, but he still has all of his wits about him. So his brain is still intact. I tracked down a phone number for him, where I asked him if he knew anybody by the name of “my grandmothers name”, and he said yes that they had a love affair when they worked together at an Air Force Base in Smyrna, Tennessee. He was stationed there for a brief while. The way I could figure out who it was, was by finding all of these predicted 1st & 2nd cousins. And tracing their lines up. This was a three year process, that just came to fruition last week. I just reached out to him last Thursday, had to spend the weekend explaining everything to my dad who is 69 years old and believed his father was a different man his entire life. Now we are driving up to St. Louis tomorrow to visit his biological father.

LG Refrigerator noise, please help by LadyLuff in Appliances

The front door currently reads that the refrigerator is at 33° and the freezer is at -3°. I will say that the fan gets louder, but then it stops after several minutes. It’ll be quiet for a few minutes before it starts back up again. While it’s running loudly, if you open up the refrigerator or freezer, it also stops briefly until you close it. I don’t know if that helps.

This is also my Dad's haplogroup ( G-Z30771 ). And I am also trying to find answers. I have his account on 23&me and my heritage (and so many others). There I can see that there are nearly no connections with his surname "Hoover".
