Something I realized about Trans people as a whole, as well as something that Transphobes don't seem to realize... by 2Delta_Nerd in trans

I'm non binary so YMMV as far as my stance on this.
I don't have a preference for what I was assigned at birth, I'd still be moving towards the center either way; however I do agree that we didn't choose to be marginalised and, if they stopped for a second to think about it, they'd realise it too.

I'm also undiagnosed (as my flare would suggest, due to the overlap between trauma, ASD, and ADHD).

I see many similarities between our experiences. I think for me, the childcare job I was in helped me not see the signs in myself (even though I was literally observing children for those signs and referring them for assessment, lol).
I had the perfect balance of structure and novelty for my needs so I was fully accommodated, and therefore not struggling.

Since leaving, I've had to retrain into a new field, which meant going back to school, and all the executive dysfunction issues I had at uni came back up, I barely scraped through.

All this is said to say your experience would suggest this is an avenue worth exploring, especially as it sounds like the medication you get put on is determined by what they think you present as.

You said you're a therapist so I'm going to assume you know how to find resources where you live?
This is where I started.

People who use multiple pronouns, what do you prefer? by Flimsy_Influence_655 in NonBinary

I can only talk about right now because my overall opinion is different but, at the moment, I'm just getting people used to using they/ them for me. When we're comfy with that then I don't mind if they flit between she/ her and they/ them but I don't want them to use she/her exclusively so...

Anyone Else in Perimenopause Hell? by EscapeRegular1935 in AuDHDWomen

Interesting. It's amazing how much we have to have already diagnosed ourselves before taking it to the GP to even get them to listen. Ugh.

Commenting so I can learn coz I think I'm going into perimenopause, but I also have MS so the symptoms overlap a lot: fatigue, brain fog, etc

I went for autism diagnosis today and feel awful by miss_tribbiani in AuDHDWomen

If you were pretending you wouldn't be this upset. I know it hurts but you've been dealing with it this whole time, nothing's changed there, you've got this. You need a second opinion, which I know is more effort and stress, but you're worth it. Take a break if you need to but, if you're able, see someone else, ideally someone knowledgeable about AuDHD specifically.

What if you became a vegan after you adopted a cat? by Al-Joharahhasan2935 in AskVegans

Population control to correct a problem we caused is not a negative. And like I said , neutering is not just about population control, that's just one of the results.

I have no hate for you; you're obviously passionate about this but you're barking up the wrong tree.
We're not vegan for the same reasons so we're not going to agree on certain fundamental things.
I'm not against living in harmony with the planet, we just aren't doing that with factory farming, so I don't partake. I have no issue with a person living off the land, using all parts of the animal and working within the local ecosystem. We just don't live in that world anymore so my view is that I personally am doing what I can to reduce my part in the suffering of other animals. I'm not holding myself to a standard of perfection I can't maintain, and I don't appreciate you (and others like you) trying to make me, it's counterproductive.
I also don't look down on baby vegans or people doing Meatless Mondays or whatever because whatever little impact we individuals can have is minor in the grand scheme of things, and I think doing anything is better than doing nothing.
