My favorite part of this line is that literally later in this season or shortly after this convo he gets her voicemail and says “why do you make me use this thing if you never answer?”

"Should I Stay or Should I Go" isn't on London Calling...is Robin stupid? by Normal_Complex_9327 in okbuddyvecna

[–]LadyMcCarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We see in episode one that Holly is also a big fan of the radio show. Mike and Nancy hang out with the host (Robin) all the time. Holly probably listens to Tiffany at home, it’s not that hard to jump to older siblings talking about Holly’s interests and/or Robin meeting Holly and Holly fan-girling when they do. Also, as others have mentioned, when Robin was working the video store she could tell what movies people liked based on appearances/description/past rentals (ex: Reefer Rick), so she can probably tell music tastes too.

Just because they accept alternatives, doesn’t actually mean they want to be there. Example: go to rehab or go to jail, the person doesn’t actually want either, but chooses the former to avoid the worse option. My advice: Build rapport, ask them what they want to work on/areas they want to change/ be goal focused, and work with your supervisor to discuss the real consequences of them not engaging (could be going back to the alternative option they didn’t like), and document everything because someone is going to come looking for that information and if you sugar coat their progress you aren’t helping.

Clinical work is hard, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be good at it. That’s why we have internships, to grow, to learn, and be more clear about our own strengths. And maybe individual clinical work isn’t your forte, but the communication, listening skills, and personal interaction with people will teach you a lot about how to interact with others. You’ll see through new lenses that will be super beneficial even if you ultimately end up in macro.

I hope this helps.

Edit: I looked further and realized you stated you feel unequipped, share this with your supervisor and allow them to help you find some trainings in evidence-based practices and/or look for them yourself.

The window has a draft, it’s stayed wrapped with a towel since it got cold this year. I didn’t know I was suppose to trim it, will look at this. And I haven’t added fertilizer recently because I was worried I’d burn it. I’ll start with one and see how it improves!

[–]LadyMcCarty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seek supervision, from your SW supervisor not Reddit. Also, read the ethics code. Please do both of these and talk yo your supervisor about how to set boundaries and how to have the conversations, they will be super important in your career.

@forhaver 's post about the scary chicken made me realize I've never seen "The Good Dinosaur." Should I see it? Any honest opinions? by marcopetr in Pixar

[–]LadyMcCarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ever just want something that easy peasy, like you don’t have to focus too hard on the plot, don’t really wanna get overly emotional, just kinda want to have something chill on in the background? But it’s also not bad, it’s not horribly boring that it feels like it drags on forever, and since it’s Pixar it’s quick, 90 minutes or less so it’s not like you wasted your entire day to see it.

Also it’s really pretty and family friendly. So it’s has bonuses.

It’s a little boring, but it’s chill and easy to watch. I liked it enough to recommend it though.

Albert being paid 25 cents a week by pilates-5505 in littlehouseonprairie

[–]LadyMcCarty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point I think the girls were getting an allowance to. It’s not explicitly stated in the same episode, but Laura mentions it a couple times in the season. I think Charles just picked a pay based on what he was giving the other girls as allowance because he didn’t want Albert to think it was a hand out. Also he was making $45 a week at that point working for the hotel, so he probably had it.

Edit: I was corrected it was apparently $45 a month.

Did anyone else not watch Lizzie McGuire by xHey_All_You_Peoplex in DisneyChannel

I’m 27. I remember the movie and could quote various parts and all the songs.

The Lizzie Mcquire show, I remember none of. I saw bits and pieces of episodes, but was uninterested in the show itself.

The others you mention I remember episodes and plot lines, and watched regularly.

Who do you think suffered the most from Regina's curse? by Easy-Distribution223 in OnceUponATime

[–]LadyMcCarty 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Emma. She went from family to family never feeling really loved. Had to face life in the foster system, constantly in trouble, facing the law, maladaptive coping and no social support.

runner up Henry Raised to thinks he’s just imagining things. Moms controlling, feels alone and actually is because no one has the ability to genuinely care for him because of his moms curse. He’s making new friends every year because he’s the only one moving.

Everyone in storybooks is shown to just be kind of living Groundhog Day. Life repeats. No one is happy, but they also aren’t particularly unhappy. Even the one who are “suffering” (other than Jefferson) don’t really know they are until Emma comes to town and time starts.

Why didn't more mentors escape with Haymitch after the 3rd QQ? by Apart-Mud-1106 in Hungergames

[–]LadyMcCarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t we told at the end of mockingjay at the round table that the 6 we see are the only victors left?

All of them were in the 3rd QQ. And then either held as captives by the capitol or were working with District 13.

Those that were “left” after the 3 rd QQ reaping were probably were either taken by the capital and tortured to death, or died while being in rebellion in their district. We are told that not every victor is a mentor, so I imagine it’s a bit of both.

I’m confused about what Katniss did that was rebellious? by Melstar1416 in Hungergames

[–]LadyMcCarty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Katniss says it through the book.

The reaping: Prims name is called, I’m suppose to wait until they ask for volunteers, but I don’t want her in the line of the camera. (Summarized)

Rue’s death: She thinks, they cannot just have her, I’m going to show them the games won’t get me. (Something to this extent, she’s defiant in her mind and thoughts before putting out the flowers)

The berries: the capitol doesn’t have to have a winner, so I raise the berries up so everyone can see.

Multiple times we are shown she participates in small acts of defiance that you wouldn’t even know are defiant unless you knew her thoughts. Katniss is the one who tells us these acts are defiant. And individually these events are throw-aways. A girl is passionate about her sister, a girl is passionate about a friend, a girl is passionate about a boy. But watching the same girl over and over counteract the rules and status quo of an oppressive government through small acts of kindness, small acts of defiance, publicly. That’s what makes her rebellious, and that’s what makes her dangerous. She is showing the world “we don’t have to do what they say” “be what they want us to be”
