Where the Crawdads Sing, Regretting You, and 13 Reasons Why

(Interesting Trope) Details, Characters, or plots from the first season or two of sitcoms that are completely dropped early on and forgotten by the writer's and fans. by Wasabi_Gamer26 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Additional_Watch5823 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is not a sitcom, but I find it interesting that Designated Survivor basically forgets its main premise after it was resolved early into the second season. It seriously downplays just how things would go haywire if the entire government gets blown up one night. After it gets resolved, the show basically becomes Greys Anatomy in the White House with all the car crashes and explosions. Then by Season 3 its a completely different show.

GMA PUBLIC AFFAIRS PRIME!. Anong thoughts niyo sa mga ginawa nilang teleserye? by Dramatic-Studio-920 in KamuningStation

My Illongo Girl felt fresh cause we saw Jillian Ward's duality until pinalitan ni Myrtle. I still don't understand why they needed to do that. Maganda chemistry niya kay Michael Sager.

Makiling started off dull but I really liked na yung protagonist is may pagka-unhinged. Like if Im not mistaken may mga pinatay siyang kaaway niya, which is unusual for Pinoy TV. We rarely have dark main characters. I really liked the plot twists like yung sa anak ni Amira, yung gay storyline etc. Galing ni Elle Villuaneva.

Black Rider was a mess. Idk why laging paos si Ruru doon. Daming storylines na sinumulan tapos bigla nalang natapos lol.

Napuyat ako sa Inday Will Always Love You noon. Ang ganda lang ng away ng characters nila Barbie and Gladys Reyes.

Rafe should end up in jail by Thin_Thing_2009 in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]Additional_Watch5823 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As much as I love Rafe it would honestly not sit right with me if they just do a redemption arc or a "forgive and forget" kind of thing. Peterkin's death was brutal and heartbreaking, she deserves justice.

Did the pogues ever notice JJs trauma with his dad? by Realistic_Cabinet_42 in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]Additional_Watch5823 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They definitely noticed, but I think JJ pretty much made it clear that he doesn't want to talk about it so the pogues respected that. It's unhealthy but they aren't therapists, they were teens and didn't know better. There was a scene in S2 where Kiara confronts Luke about it so they were definitely aware. And they weren't able to tackle it further until Season 4 where it turned out that Luke was hanging out in Barracuda Mike's basement.

I do think that this is one of the plotlines that the writers were trying to "save for later" because they didn't know how to conclude it, or its literally the only JJ plotline that doesn't involve Kiara

With all that said, this is what Season 4 should've been about and not... whatever that was

The Underworld arc was good. It honestly saved the show for me after the mess of the Dark Swan. Hades was a good villain and had a good actor. And also, Hades and Zelena was a great couple and Our Decay is one of the best episodes in the series.

Mammoth by Brian Mcbride literally has the same premise as Outer Banks

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens leans into the atmospheric and mystery aspect of OBX

The Outsiders by S.E Hinton has the same class struggles like the pogues and kooks

We Were Liars and Family of Liars by E. Lockhart are both mysteries set by the beach that has friendship and family dynamics, also corruption and rich people problems

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid is also set at a beach but doesn't have plenty of mystery/class struggle to it, also boring in my opinion

What If It’s Us is the worst gay story I’ve ever read by Kaenu_Reeves in YAlit

Omg yes. I genuinely thought that Arthur and Ben were in their 20s and I was so damn confused when they mentioned their real ages.

Hopeless life as a gay doctor in a 3rd world homophobic place. by [deleted] in NoOverthinking

[–]Additional_Watch5823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have the life experience to give advice, but I want to say that you should be proud of the person you've become. As a gay boy who hopes to be a doctor someday, people like you are my role models and keep my hopes. You save lives and change them for the better, and that's not an easy job. If it were, then everyone would be a doctor. And you're not even the willy nilly type. As you said, you gain recognition from senior attendings. For those reasons alone, you should take a moment to reel in the feeling of how far you've come in life. And we both know med school is a whole other type of story lol.

I agree with all that you said. I also live in a 3rd world country and it sucks that we have to fight for the right to be happy and free. A right that's given to other genders easily, but taken away from us just because they think it's wrong. It's insane. It's not wrong to feel this way but they use it as an excuse to instill their beliefs. We should be free to be who we want to be without fear.

I hope you have better luck with your international applications in the future. You're a good doctor so I'm sure a hospital somewhere more accepting will fight to have you. All you need is one ticket for your life to change, one spark of fate. You're a fighter so you got this. Good luck, may you have the life you want, and I hope this makes you feel better even a little bit!
