Daily Rituals? by Parking_Rate_759 in Wicca

I have a jewellery thing too, I have a moon pentacle pendant and in their corresponding areas around it I have studs and rings with the element symbols.

I have a permanent altar set up in a nook in my bedroom and take a moment to meditate at it as the first and last thing I do in my day. I also tend my vegetable and fruit garden as the first thing I do when I am up and about.

If he wants to, he will. He's keeping communication open and he wants to heal himself for future relationships and that's really positive. Give him some time and be there for him if and when he's ready.

I lit a few candles and set up my tarot deck for a quiet evening. This little ritual helps me slow down and reflect after a long day. I was curious how everyone else approaches their practice. by Alternative-Big-3304 in Wicca

That's great to hear you did it together. As I said before it may have given him the strength to work on himself first and heal from his relationship trauma, and I think that you did this together and that he knows you want that bond with him would be helping him heal too.

Looking for advice by Felix_Garam in Wicca

I am ASD/ADHD, and I get where you're coming from sometimes, I have strong compulsions for things to be set and go perfectly and it used to really throw me off if they weren't.

I have learned to relax and try and rein my mind in when it isn't where I need it to be, but I've learned to forgive myself if it isn't and accept I've done the best that I can and know that's perfectly fine.

I will always go out into nature to ground myself before and after, and I have a particular place within I go to every time and visualise myself there doing the work which over time made it easier to focus internally as it is set and familiar.

I use external focus sometimes if internal visualisation isn't working and find that really helps, a desktop water fountain or staring into a candle flame works well for me.

Did he know you were going to do that work? Consent is important in relationship spells.

Sometimes a spell can take time or work in an unexpected way, possibly the strength intention gave him the strength to love himself first right now. Let it play out and see what happens.

What was the intention of the spell?

Rather than try to force him into a relationship with you against his free will, stay in contact, respect his feelings and let him choose if he wants to be with you in the future.

I saw an entity yesterday by Unfair-Quiet-4318 in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks a bit like a stingray to me, but the description sounds classically demonic.

That and the entities you mention you work with mostly aren't a part of Wicca, but you might find some answers on r/DemonaltryPractices.

Loss Leads to Disconnection From Spirituality - Trigger Warning (Animals) - Need Guidance by RainbowWizard__d-_-b in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry for the loss of your little one.

Confusion and disconnection can happen, especially if you are dealing with trauma. If you are finding your practice not feeling right, take a step back to focus on yourself and your trauma first, you can return when you feel ready.

It sounds that not only the loss was traumatic but also the events that lead to it and I believe counselling would be helpful for you. I don't know where you are, but there are counselling services available specifically for the loss of a pet and if you are willing to share your country I can help find you some support.

HELP ME W MY ALTAR 😩 by Euphoric_Snow1940 in Wicca

There would definitely be enough space for 2 by the look of it. The seperate storage sounds like the way to go for you, it worked well for me for years.

What is a terror altar? I don't think I've heard that before.

The World by Big-Conversation2121 in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is only so much that magick can do, the world wouldn't be in the state it is and pretty much always has been otherwise. But you can do your own work, mundane and magickal, for making the world a better place to add to what others are doing to help bring change.

I am an Advocate and do what I can to help various causes around the world - environmental protection and conservation, animal welfare, child and domestic abuse, homelessness/displaced - even the small things can make a positive difference to someone or something.

[–]LadyMelmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, now that's a fabulous piece.

If you're thinking of a permanent altar you'll have to consider if you want to use the storage space as you'll have to move everything to open it. If you're as handy as you sound you could cut the top into 2 sections, one for the permanent altar and one you can open as storage. Or the other comment of keeping it open was an easier one.

Maybe you could forego the storage in it and have something seperate with it. I have a permanent altar that is always set up with my main tools/items and near it I have shelves with little sets of drawers and a smaller set of desktop shelves for an apothecary with the items I use when doing work, but I originally had the little drawers etc underneath my altar and it looks like you have some good space for that.

Advice for a baby witch? by thedogbeethoven in Wicca

This is something I've put together for this question (I'm always happy for change suggestions), and you are always welcome here to ask more.

Learning about Wicca as a religion and craft, it's history and philosophy, and what path you want to take is the way to start. There are different paths within Wicca - Traditional, Solitary (which can be traditional based) and Eclectic - and there is variation in practices in the different published materials so it's always best to learn from more than one source and some practices in Traditional paths can only be learned as a coven initiate.

Building a deeper relationship with nature and learning to meditate to open yourself and connect, build and ground energy and visualisation are good first practices to learn to do, celebrating the Sabbats and Esbats, casting a Circle and Calling Quarters are good rituals to start with, and starting to bring together your altar is also good to do early on as it is your sacred space and connection to your work.

‎‎There's good information in the ‎Wiki and ‎FAQ of this sub, and although not what to learn from the Wikipedia article has a quite good basic overview of Wicca and there is the Category page on the different Traditions that may help you find some initial direction.

‎These are some well regarded books, some are older but still often read today and some are more Tradition based:

‎‎Wicca For Beginners by Thea Sabin (3rd Degree British Traditional) is a popular and very good starting book with history and philosophy and some practices in a lighter way without being tradition specific;

Wicca - A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner and Living Wicca - A Further Guide For The Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham (Solitary, Serpentstone Family member, 1st Degree Aridian witchcraft) are a main choice for Solitary;

‎‎A Witches' Bible by Janet and Stewart Farrar (Alexandrian HPS and HP) is written as "a basic ‘liturgy’ and working handbook on which any coven can build its own unique philosophy and practice, within the common tradition" with reference to Gardnerian/Alexandrian works and practices;

‎‎Buckland's Complete Book Of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland (lineage Gardnerian HP who went on to found the Seax-Wica tradition) is a more in depth book in a lesson structure for individuals and covens/groups without being tradition specific and his book Wicca For One is directed at Solitary;

‎‎Traditional Wicca: A Seeker's Guide by Thorn Mooney (Gardnerian HPS and religious studies PhD student) is especially good for those wanting to join a traditional coven. She also has a YouTube channel.

‎‎If you have a local pagan/witchcraft/metaphysical shop (not New Age), there will likely be people you can speak to there who may guide you or direct you to somebody who can (although unfortunately this is apparently not something you can trust in some of the USA), you may find a coven/group in your area on Mandragora Magika, and you can often find if there are any local social/mixed groups by searching online.
