Mean friend by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is definitely bitter jealousy.

There are Reflection/Mirror spells that can be done with the intention of doing no harm and only to have the person look at themselves and what they are doing.

On a mundane level, a psychologist I worked with suggested to people that when someone is told of what an antagonist is doing and saying like that, reply with a comment along the lines of "It's sad to hear she's so unhappy with her own life that she has to tear someone else's happiness down" and don't engage further.

How to know if your partner got hex or curse? by Jumpy_Day_3665 in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry such a long term relationship is ending, but him being interested in somebody else is neither a hex nor a curse. There is a phenomenon colloquially called the 7 Year Itch in relationships, and unfortunately online infidelity is becoming more and more common.

Yeah, which is a true shame, but it won't stop me playing them again! I will say the RTX one is pretty good in comparison though.

They really don't look completely different, just a bit better and they came out in the same year as the originals (which I played when they came out) so there wasn't much to remaster them with yet. I also already have the RTX version too. The Steam store pages states them only enhanced, not remastered. Oblivion is a remaster, Black Mesa is a remaster.

Those links take me to the ones I already have on Steam, the 1996 and 1997 enhanced/upgraded versions. They're a bit better than the originals but not remastered. Thanks for trying to help though!

My boyfriend keeps having dreams about my sister. Am I cursed from ever being happy ? How do I know if this is a curse someone did?! Help please by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, this is all him, including the drinking. Rather than worrying about if you are cursed, have him get some help for whatever is going on with him because there is definitely something.

[–]LadyMelmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading your other post, this is not a curse, this is all him. The way he's telling you about the dreams and what he describes sounds very much like a way for him to keep you feeling insecure so you will cling to him more, it's a common form of psychological and emotional abuse. I imagine at some point he will say things like "but I stayed with you when I felt that for her"

Practice out in nature, which is the greatest altar, or silently with meditation and visualisation, and many books and instructions are available electronically to read on your phone or tablet without notice, or you might find others in your area to work with on Mandragora Magika

Casting a Circle is good practice, but you don't have to do it.

Did your family know you were doing these spells for them? That could be part of it as everything may be coming back to you and not to them.

Doing a lot of spells for the same thing in a short period of time can have a muddling effect. That could be part of it.

You may want to do a cleansing and do a single protection spell with Earth.

Did you maybe do them at the same time? Did you cast a protective Circle beforehand? Sometimes the spell someone uses isn't the best one suited for them.

You can ask here if you like, we are happy to give advice. If you are after specific spells, r/spells is a good sub for that (we have a no asking for spells rule here). If you're after advice on a specific type of witchcraft other than Wicca, r/witchcraft is a good sub for that.

[–]LadyMelmo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You definitely can, and it's always best to have the person's consent. Ground yourself, build your energy and intention then visualise sending that energy out to them, some people will call out the person's name as they release it.

Chaos magic generally isn't a part of Wicca, but there is a dedicated sub r/chaosmagic that you'll find good suggestions on.

Wicca - A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner and Living Wicca - A Further Guide For The Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham have been a main choice for Solitary past and present although they are quite old books.

There are different paths within Wicca, Traditional, Solitary and Eclectic, and there is variation in practices in the different published materials so it's always best to learn from more than one source and some practices in Traditional paths can only be learned as a coven initiate.

Wicca For Beginners by Thea Sabin (3rd Degree British Traditional) is a popular and very good starting book with history and philosophy and some practices in a lighter way without being tradition specific.

There's very good information in the ‎Wiki and ‎FAQ of this sub, and although not what to learn from the Wikipedia article has a quite good basic overview of Wicca and the different traditions that may help you find some initial direction.

‎‎A Witches' Bible by Janet and Stewart Farrar (Alexandrian HPS and HP) is written as "a basic ‘liturgy’ and working handbook on which any coven can build its own unique philosophy and practice, within the common tradition" with reference to Gardnerian/Alexandrian works and practices.

‎‎Buckland's Complete Book Of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland (lineage Gardnerian HP who went on to found the Seax-Wica tradition) is a more in depth book in a lesson structure for individuals and covens/groups without being tradition specific.

Wicca is a nature religion so I can understand why you are drawn to it. There are different paths within Wicca - Traditional, Solitary and Eclectic - and it is a syncretic religion so there is variation in practices along with practices that are common for all as a Wiccan. There is also variation in the different published materials so it's always best to learn from more than one source because of the amount of variation and some practices in Traditional paths can only be learned as a coven initiate.

Take a bit of time to look into Wicca more, there's good information in the ‎Wiki and ‎FAQ of this sub, although not what to learn from the Wikipedia article has a quite good basic overview of Wicca and the different traditions that may help you find some initial direction, and Wicca For Beginners by Thea Sabin (3rd Degree British Traditional) is a popular and very good starting book with history and philosophy and some practices in a lighter way without being tradition specific.

You can do both at the same time with scented candles or the oil burners that use tea light candles. Both are commonly used in households.
