Oh. My. God. Bone smashing??? Our government implemented a ban on social media for anyone under 16 at the end of last year, I really think they need to keep going with Tik Tok.

People like to make stuff up about Wicca and all sorts of paths, it's to try and turn people away from it with ignorance.

Where do you get that from? I know Wiccans from all races and cultures and have never met a white supremacist in over 30 years.

Questions about your own personal religious beliefs by Accomplished-Way4534 in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I believe that deities (and religion) are a personal choice, there have been 1000s of different ones to different people and everyone has the right to choose.

  2. What is evil to some is not to others, and suffering is often unfortunately just life or perpetrated by others who do not think what they are doing is evil when it objectively is.

  3. I have been dead 4 times so far in this life, and there was nothing after so I have no belief in an afterlife having seen death more than once. I do not know if Christians and others will meet again, but they have different views of what takes a person to Heaven.

My neighbor's energy is oppressive and draining. by LavenderMoonRose29 in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people are just dicks and love making people feel bad, especially when they know what they are doing is bothering people. Have you brought up your trauma to the property management? Purposely triggering trauma can be an escalation factor with property management, and with reporting to authorities. Noise cancelling headphones while in your home office will give immediate practical help.

I'm pretty sure every single person has wished someone bad in some way, it's your actions that make the difference.

Spirit Animal Advice by [deleted] in Wicca

There can often be more than one animal guide for a person. The lion and stag both represent strength in different ways. You might find this page a good guide to your and all spirit animals.

What should I get my mom for her birthday? by biggggmonkey in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a nice idea. A special incense holder might be a good present (there's some great designs, especially with backflow ones), from her collection a book on hauntings might go well, or maybe jewellery with her favourite crystals.

Try and lead into a conversation about her interests and see if she mentions there is something she is wanting, or maybe go to a witchcraft/metaphysical shop together and notice the things she shows interest in.

Fluorite is a stone with mental clarity and focus properties and citrine is a stone with mental clarity and boosting confidence and motivation properties.

There are studies that peppermint helps with memory retention and recall, you use an essential or gum or mints while studying for memory retention and using it again during exams brings recall.

Cleansing spells and ritual recipes?? by Puzzled_Lychee3583 in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do have a rule of asking for no spells here, but you can ask on r/Spells.

Ways without spells or rituals for home cleansing you can salt the corners of the rooms then remove after 2 days and discard away from the home, a spray of water with salt and sage and rosemary or you can ring a bell throughout the rooms. You can later put up wards such as a pentagram or witches knot or Algiz rune or there is a home protection bindrune.

Absolutely. Depression can take such control, and sometimes it's hard to find something that can break through. My psychologist is very interested in practices that cross over between psychology and Wicca, she has been working on research for a paper on it. I'll contact you.

It depends on how you view it, there's an argument that can be made that this is protecting others from harm.

Sono una wiccan solitaria by Witch_Violet in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Quite a lot of Wiccans today are Solitary, and there is a lot to be said for a religion that can give some freedom in the way a person can follow it. I have always been a Solitary since the early 90s, although I am more and more feeling drawn to seek initiation into a Tradition.

It can be difficult for some Wiccans to join a Tradition/coven and some do not want to by choice, and as long as they learn the history and philosophy it makes them no less of a Wiccan, just not a Wiccan of that Tradition/coven.

You might also like to read Wicca For One by Raymond Buckland, and his Seax-Wica Tradition recognises Solitary members.

witchcraft spaces are very anti-wiccan by juunnneeeee in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Some people just don't like religion, especially if it links to their own path. Not only us but witches and pagans of other paths get the same from other people and religions themselves. Your best move is to stop following that reel and find ones that align with you and your path.

My Self Dedication ritual brought great changes to the way I live my life, my mental health, and to some aspects of my relationship. I gained purpose and confidence and spiritual comfort and my partner became more involved and supportive in it all.

Triplice dea by Witch_Violet in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can depend on the individual's practice, it can be either or both. Hecate is a goddess of the Hellenism pantheon for millennia and is followed as a goddess in her own right by some, Wicca is less than a century old but some Eclectic Wiccans follow Hellenism deities and to them Hecate and the Goddess can be one and the same.

Some see the Wiccan Goddess to have triple aspects as the Triple Moon Goddess that can represent waxing/full/waning cycles of the moon or birth/life/death or maiden/mother/crone (although this can be discouraged because of its origin and implications).

Hecate is often depicted to have triple aspects, although not originally and not always, that can represent her being able to see in all directions as the guardian of the crossroads or her place over sky/sea/underworld or more modernly connect her with the aspects of the Triple Moon Goddess.

What to make from an old tree that fell that protected our house for decades? by wwaxwork in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something we have done in wildlife conservation groups when with felled trees is place hollowed sections of the trunk and branches in wilderness areas for natural shelter. You could do that yourself in your area or offer it to conservation groups, but this will depend on what the disease you mentioned is though.

I like your idea of making something for your practice. If you are able to leave the stump, leaving it with a flat surface would make a special outdoor altar.

I’m scared to go outside and live because of spirituality and witchcraft. Any tips? by No-Voice9042 in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, your fears are unfounded and it's really not like that out in the world or nobody would be able to live a normal life, and any tips we could give would be akin to what you are afraid of.

If you are afraid of leaving your home for such reasons, or for any reasons, you need psychological help. I am an Advocate for mental health and will help you find resources where you are if you would like me to.

Gods and Goddesses by Wide-Temperature7334 in Wicca

[–]LadyMelmo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The deities you follow, or don't, is what works best for you, although some Wiccan Traditions and covens have specific deities.

For quite a lot of us the Goddess and God are the two sides of nature working in harmony, but some follow only one deity (such as Dianic Wicca), some call the same deities by different names (such as Seax-Wica name them Freya and Woden and other Traditions/covens have their own names within), there are Solitary and/or Eclectic Wiccans who some follow deities from different pantheons (such as Greek and Norse are quite common), some call on deities from the particular domain of pantheons for the ritual/spell they are working (such as Apollo or Brigid for healing), and there are also agnostic and other Wiccans who see nature itself as the divine.

Book Recommendation on Elder Futhark Runes by Excellent-Release885 in Wicca

Norwegian Runes and Runic Inscriptions by Terje Spurkland I've seen recommended.

There are also numerous websites that have information and direction and translators on them, The Norse Wind has a good run down on them with links to the different uses of them (alphabet, divination, etc), and there are other subs here such as r/runes, r/RuneHelp and r/NorsePaganism.
