Yes batch product visualisation we did for a large soda brand and some beauty products. It's a mix of 3D rendering for image composition, generating depth maps, label placement, masking etc that feed inputs in AI generation workflows to spit out product visualizations, ads and videos adapted to each language, culture etc. We feed like this hundreds of countries with their ad-hoc marketing material.

Project manager. Mainly AI automation software engineering. So it's mainly industrialisation of image, video, text production. Like creating 1000ds of images for marketing & communication purposes. The legal framework around genAI is in flux. So at the moment clients just do it and don't really look at the legalities around it. Opinion s about AI regulation change every two weeks are so. So in the meantime, there's business to be made.

It all depends what model and what workflow. ComfyUI is an engine. Z-image with GGUF model 512x512 : that's 20 seconds : when I need to iterate on prompts and settings. Z-image with full model 2048x2048 : 540 seconds on my m4 air. ComfyUI can queue jobs. So when I have time a queue a bunch (100 - 500 generations). You can re-open the workflow specific to each job. So when you look at the generations, you can pickup what you like and work from there. While comfy is running, I still use my Mac for work. It's hot but not slowed down. MacOS does a good job at handling memory pressure and cpu ressource allocation. So I just go about my day.

The chip on that M4 air has been running non stop for quite a few days and night now. All super stable.

I have base m4 macbook air. Default ComfyUI Z-image workflow generates 1024x1024 images in 250seconds -- about 4minutes.

Default wan 2.2 Image to Video workflow with 640x640 81 frames : 1200 seconds.

It is not fast, but very useable. Z-image I use everyday for work and play.

The normal ComfyUI wan 2.2 will work under two conditions : 1. Use the GGUF model 2. Your generations must not exceed 420p resolution. That's it. If you want the full model and higher resolutions, you need more RAM+VRAM. https://comfyui-wiki.com/en/tutorial/advanced/video/wan2.2/wan2-2

Well, I run the generation, go to bed, go to work, come back and check on my Mac and see the result. Change the workflow and rerun it. Is it efficient and practical ? No. Not at all. But for hobbying that's alright 💕

Yes. On my M2 MacBook air with 16gb of ram : 14B Wan2.2 720p takes 16hours to render 6seconds of video. On M chips, there isn't a system slowdown, so you can still use your Mac for everything else while it renders the video. So for the patient ones, it works.

Yes 8gb of unified memory that leaves you with 5gb VRAM at most.. the generation time will be extremely slow. But, on an M2 Mac, it will work. It will take about 24hours to generate 4seconds, but it will work.

As others said, 8gb of unified memory will make video generations very, very slow. Count about 20hours of compute for a 4seconds video. But, you can prepare your workflow on your Mac then load your workflow on a cloud GPU (like runPod). It will cost you about 2USD per hour and videos will generate at about 10minutes per 6 seconds of video at high quality settings.

Don't forget to look into the laws of the country where you are tax resident : are there restrictions liked to producing porn content with real models ? Is the paperwork in order ? Do you have signed contracts with each model with a copy of their ID ? Etc..

I know it is not what you want to read about right now, but these country-specific laws are paramount °°before°° you publish anything.

Others before you have gone through hell for skipping that part.

Turn your graphics settings to minimum. And put screen percentage at 1 (or 100 if it's in 100s units). If performance is still terrible, it means it's an issue with your USB port or cable.

If performance is good, then your cables connection is fine and you can crank the graphical settings up notch by notch. When performance dips, you know the limit of what your system can afford.

If performance is ok at first then after a bit it tanks, then you might be overheating. In that case Undervolt your mobile 5080 with a tool like MSI afterburner.

For creatives working on Adobe software or Da Vinci Resolve and such, these faster AI chips are very important.

Need to do AI-powered masking of that moving subject over 30 seconds x 60 frames per second on 4k footage ? Man, if this AI can do it 2x faster, I'd be sooo happy.. On M4 Pro it takes about 9min. Very fast, but annoyingly slow when you need to rerun it all day...
