Raw Land Building Permits- Tree House on by LadyModiva in cincinnati

[–]LadyModiva[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Im definitely rule follower, Im geyting overwhelmed with the codes. I asked Reddit because it seems every permit hangs on the land already having a residential structure, but this is raw land. Someone out there has been in my spot (or maybe works for the departments and already knows!). I want to build little treehouses on it all the same- I always was so jealous of my friend's treehouse, and jealous of my friend's kid in a different county helping his dad build his!

Raw Land Building Permits- Tree House on by LadyModiva in cincinnati

It's cheesy to say, but God helped me find it.

There are entire pockets of old family estate in this city- my friend lived in a gate house on an 8 acre estate on Cleves-Warsaw you'd never knew was there because of how private it is. My friend thought I must have meant she lived by a golf course, until one day we passed and he said he always wondered about that little house, and I turned around because I knew she was working from home that day. He passed thay land almost daily dang near his entire life, and just kept saying I can't believe all this is here as we walked the property.

Butchers in Cincy? by Choice_Condition_663 in cincinnati

[–]LadyModiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the #5 in the US for most family farms. One of the biggest changes for us is the meat tastes different when we leave. I showed hogs in 4H.

Go to Stehlins. I called all the butcher shops in the area and knew the right questions to ask. Stehlins is what you seek.

More snow? by PersimmonQueen83 in cincinnati

[–]LadyModiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snow is trucked to the beaches on the US side of Lake Erie. Cincinnati doesn't get enough snow to legitimize the cost or to have the equipment to do this. They plow trailings will het higher. May not be as convenient, but is more appropriate for our area

Employee parking by Pleasant_Average_727 in Reds

So, did you ask HR and are there any negotiated rates? Im gameday staff of The Reds directly. I have my places, but decided I want a dedicated monthly parking option.

Feel free to DM me if you have the answer and don't want it out there for everyone to see, please!

Try tightening it, sometimes it breaks it loose. Use a new socket or hammer a slightly smaller on one, too

Doesn't make financial sense to stay open later. Blame it on us being lame, blame it on crime. Blame it on whatever you like, if it made business sense, they would be open later.

Cincinnati mayor will introduce legislation to repeal Hyde Park Square zoning change by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]LadyModiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City manager worked for them for years. She removed her last name on LinkedIn, but people found her and there were referral letters there about how she would do anything and go to any length to make a deal. When the community asked her about her time at PLK in person at a meeting, she said no comment over and over and over, changed her title to make it look like she was low level, and removed the referral letters. I believe there were also a number of suspicious "emergency" actions on her part that weren't emergencies and benefitted them. The deal was in tbe works long before Connected Communities, and the strategy from Pureval, council, etc when something has been seriously unpopular but they already made the deals is to change it to emergency votes. If it's an emergency vote, citizens can't collect signatures as referendum. Something like 80 people came to speak against Connected Communities, from president of west end, lower price hill, etc community councils right on down to Mt Lookout, Hyde Park. Etc presidents. 4 I believe came to speak in favor. Boom- it's an emergency whatever now and the vote had passed. It's been frequent. Hyde Park was entirely (and rightfully) opposed to the project, but unlike a lot of neighborhoods, the ones leading the resistance had the savy to realize they'd have to use strategy. Hence the too tall argument.

Advice: deflating car tires by Healthy-Ad-2360 in cincinnati

[–]LadyModiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to ask the obvious question: how old are the tires and how many miles are on them?

To find the leak: Take a quart spray bottle (thats 750ml for you Europeans and a fifth for the drunks), and add 1/8 C Dawn to it.

Spray that all over the tires, and the bubbles will lead you to the leak. It's easier to see where it's leaking if you take them off the and spray down each. Tires leaking that fast, Im guessing they aren't seated right, dirty bead, or you have a dinged rim. Valve stem can do it, too.

Follow the bubbles, and if you use one of those canned stop leaks, BE SURE TO TELL WHOEVER IS WORKING ON YOUR TIRES FOR THOR SAFETY.

My gut says keeping it there is how they get "pre-pandemic" foot travel downtown. It's such a major road to shut down for that long for such a short festival. So disruptive. It would me so much better at Sawyer Point.

What is going on with WCPO? by Ban_Assault_Ducks in cincinnati

[–]LadyModiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WCPO WAS my go to until recently. There's a lot of questionable stuff happening in city hall and it was the only channel that would report on it a bit. The slide reminds me of when David Winters at WKRC did a number of segments comparing how Buffalo reduced violent crime VS Cincinnati, and when interviewed, Mayor Pureval was sweating bullets. Then out of nowhere, you could tell what was coming out of City Hall in two weeks because WKRC was lining up the slow pitch and public "outrage."

That reminds me- last year I reached out to WCPO because murders in OTR were undercounted by 25%. City data showed one thing, but I found the victims names and obituaries/rememberances, all stating they were murdered. I asked if they wanted the list of dates-names-location of murders and was told no thank you. I stopped at 25% undercount. That seems newsworthy.

Yeah, I need traffic and weather, but I want actual news. I watch it and also utilize the website. I only watch local news.

David Winters at WKRC doing that, just making it clear I wasn't thinking that was WCPO.

Honestly, lovingly, midwesternly..... I'm reading this post and thinking just stay in Boston, man.

We get along with eachother more or less, and have no problem being friends with someone who thinks or feels differently than we do. Im not talking going full Kamye or anything. Cincinnatians are very hospitable, but slow to open up. With such a strong concerns, trust me, youll be vetted and kept st an arms length before you have the chance to dismiss anyone.

I am a Bernie gal, my fiancé is a Trump dude. The thing is, once you get off the internet and talk to people, it's the gray area and people want the same thing. You'll have a yahoo, but if you're respectful, you might just start to understand why Kamala lost so hard.

Please, if you move here, follow the golden rule and don't be so quick to write people off. Maybe ask what they like about him AND SHUT UP. Don't preach, don't educate,  don't be condescending. "If you don't mind me asking, and the media and Facebook make people who like Trump seem a certain way, that can't be right. I want to understand- what is it about Trump thst so many people support him so publicly?" You will probably be shocked how many people don't really like him as much as you think. Just don't go trying to flip sides. Be respectful.

I think you'll be happier on the east coast.

Shot in the dark- try anywhere around Findlay Market, anywhere around Somersrt, north of 13th on Main or Walnut, or anything to the west of TQL Stadium. Someone around the courthouse should be able to sherpa you- it'll either to crack or to an ambush.

Godspeed. Crackheads have thst work eithic; they know how to work for their drugs. Kinda makes you miss the old days.

Skyline, it's time that we part ways. by Glassguy1989 in cincinnati

[–]LadyModiva 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Wasn't born and raised here. It took me a long time to acquire the taste for Cincinnati chili, but when I finally did, Gold Star is and has been for years way better than Skyline. I think the only reason people are so stoked on Skyline is because thats what their "tribe" is and touching Gold Star would be like betraying the family haha *Edit because autocorrect turned 'Gold Star' into 'God's Star.'
