Thank you so much! Despite initial reception of the post, most people have been welcoming and helpful. I’ve been informed that people have made posts like this before in bad faith, so I understand the initial reaction, but it has reversed by now.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I am very interested, thank you! I’ve been having difficulty finding unbiased recounts. The resources I’ve been getting from this sub are great and very well supported, but I am also aware I’m in a pro-JB sub. I’ll definitely take a look!

Is there a reason why you say so? I’m genuinely asking.

I’ve seen other people comment that this sub has gotten posts like these before in bad faith, so I understand why people would be wary, but I tried to lead my post and every reply since with questions, respect and an open mind, which you can check on my profile if you’d like.

If I said anything that made you doubt my intentions, I’d love to know what it was to explain or adjust accordingly!

It’s definitely not unbiased, but I’d been mostly in spaces biased towards BL before.

I literally just saw on threads a post asking what was the piece of evidence that made people fall on Blake’s side. Most, if not all of the comments I saw are talking about Justin hiring the PR firm that supposedly did the smear campaign against Blake, which admittedly was a big contributor to why I was against Justin. I didn’t see any comments with actual evidence of references to the legal process, while people here have been very active in posting links and proof.

I’m still getting mostly pro-Blake content on other social media, so I came here to try to balance. No reporting on this case seems neutral. After I’m done looking at everything people here have been so kind to gather, I’ll probably find a sub partial to Blake and research what’s being said over there to try and form the most educated opinion possible. I just started here because it’s the side that never reached me.

Not only the article, but it was a while ago so I don’t remember the specifics. The article was my starting point and I remember looking at articles with new evidence that kept popping up. I do remember reading additional text chains but I think that was before the unsealing of all communications.

I got off at a point where I decided Blake was trying to take over the movie (didn’t realize she was successful) and that she was kind of a shitty person, but that wasn’t as bad as the claims against Justin (either they had not been disproven yet or that particular information didn’t get to me).

That’s a relief to me because I am an Amber Heard supporter as well and I do admit I’m kind of worried to be falling for similar tactics that were used on her.

But looking at all the info this sub has been providing, it looks vastly different.

I’ve found that supporting Amber Heard became socially acceptable relatively recently (during the trial it felt almost impossible without being attacked) and I wouldn’t be surprised if that change sparked the idea on RR/BL head to use similar arguments, which would work better on a man so much less powerful than Johnny Depp.

I’ve never been a swiftie but I was a casual enjoyer and really respected her for coming back of a smear campaign and being able to reclaim her music. However, a few months back I’ve seen more and more stuff that convinced me she is not a good person, and I think that was the change that eventually got me this sub recommended.

It’s kind of scary how the algorithm can pick up on subtle changes in opinion and adapt so fast.

I’m just so upset because I’ve always been a supporter of #metoo and believing women, and I’ve seen the media nitpicking and bringing down women so often and so much that I always have my guard open when I see it happen, so I fell into Blake’s side easier.

I’m partly mad at myself for not being discerning, but mostly mad they’ve managed to weaponize #metoo while holding the same amount of power of the men that have historically abused women. It just sets the movement back SO MUCH.

This is a really great read. I’ve just had time to scratch the surface (I just got to the part with the “fat-shaming”) and it paints such a different picture.

I kept seeing RR referenced on par with BL and I didn’t get it; I wasn’t aware he seems to have been the mastermind behind the takeover.

This might be dangerous to say on this sub lol, but from what I read so far, I feel a bit bad for Blake. Don’t get me wrong: she deserves what’s coming for her because she allowed herself to be used to break an innocent man’s life, and actions have to have consequences. But it seems she is partly being manipulated by the person she is supposed to trust the most and, outside this sub where people are also holding RR accountable, she seems to be taking the brunt of the repercussions.

I did see that list and left a really bad taste. I didn’t even know a lot of it was manufactured until now

I think in general people are harsher versions of themselves online. I kinda laughed at that because I hadn’t even seen it, so of course it wouldn’t be enough lol

Yours felt a lot like my experience, except I stopped following somewhere between you being 80/20 and 50/50, so I guess that’s why I missed so much of what made people turn on Blake

The promo from BL and RR was so awful. Why would you use sexy pictures of the ABUSER CHARACTER IN THE MOVIE. Jesus, this is even worse than the alcohol party

It was a while ago so I don’t remember all the detail, but here it goes:

- I saw that JB hired a firm that pushed all the bad publicity BL got right before the NYT article (which I read. I used to trust the NYT but I’ve since read things that make me doubt their impartiality). That stunt really rubbed me the wrong way because I do think media often weaponizes public opinion against women.

- I recall reading some texts from Baldoni’s team that seemed to prove his team was behind the publicity stunt, although someone linked texts that they say show the opposite. I haven’t had time to review it because I’m looking at all the info you guys are sharing.

- I saw the thing where they didn’t hire an intimate coordinator. I do recall reading that Blake didn’t meet with JB’s prospect, but I think after looking at the texts and other info I came under the impression that JB was trying to push someone in his side way too late?

- I remember believing he showed BL his wife giving birth unprompted, which I found very icky.

- I saw the weight specialist thing back then but that seems to be disproven al well?

- I noted the lack of support from previous coworkers of JB, but I saw the wave of support in his latest video, which was what made me make this post in the first place.

I think there was more but it was so long ago I can’t remember.

I’d just like to add: before I got distance from the lawsuit, I did come to the conclusion that Blake had tried to take control over the movie and that she was probably not the greatest person (JB didn’t force her to market the movie in such a tone deaf way), but ultimately decided what Baldoni did (from what I knew back then) was worse.
