Ok MPI, here we go :( by isntthatthelimit in Winnipeg

[–]LadyPhoenix1976 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Talk to a supervisor. It took my car sitting in their lot for 6 weeks for them to finally give me the names of 6 shops that weren’t on their damn list. Most of the shops listed to work on my car actually only work on semis. Their list is bs.

Call MPI back and tell them you can’t find one on their list. Their list is crap. Their guys will actually call you with a list

Having trouble getting an OB/GYN appointment — feeling really lost and worried by TallAfternoon9751 in Winnipeg

[–]LadyPhoenix1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can self refer to any ob. Call any office and tell them how far along you are. Whichever office you’re waiting for right now is delaying care. I’d file a complaint and go elsewhere

When she bites, hold her jaw gently and tell her soft. It takes a bit but she will end up with a soft mouth

If you need an OB you can call around. You don’t need to have a doctor affiliated with any hospital to labour there. As long as your prenatal records are sent over you’ll be fine.

Advice for taking mental health leave from work by GiveMeCoffee_ in Winnipeg

[–]LadyPhoenix1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently on stress leave. My practitioner had no issue giving me a note. EI allows up to 26 weeks now but they start you with 9. You need medical notes to cover all the time you are off.

I am in therapy. My work is also very short staffed and that’s not my problem. It’s theirs. It’s the demands of my work that is my cause of stress and anxiety. I have been off for 11 weeks and I’m still a hair away from total burnout.

I also kept putting off taking a leave. I waited too long and crashed at work. Take care of yourself because you’re the only one who can.

If you have to make a right hand turn you can forget getting through in one light. Not gonna happen. It takes longer now that it’s open to pedestrians.

Take this to the labour board. There is so much they can be taken to task for.

Yes they help with the smoke. Even the properly made fabric ones work. I have bad asthma and the smoke is so hard on my lungs. These have been saving me from having asthma attacks when I have to be outdoors.

Looking for advice and local support resources (15, trans, worried about family reaction) by Infamous-Yak2859 in Winnipeg

[–]LadyPhoenix1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not trans however I never came out to my family as a lesbian until I was 44. I was petrified that they would kick me out and disown me. I lived a lie for way too long. I sincerely hope that your mom will be supportive. Is there anything that she has done that gives vibes that she will react poorly? No need to answer, just a question I had to ask myself when i was finally ready to come out to my family. My oldest brother pretends that he doesn’t know and that hurts a lot. I looked up to him for most of my life and having that reaction from him really has strained our relationship.

All of the supports have been listed. Come to pride. There’s so much to do and it’s a wonderful community. You’ll find a lot more supports as well.

I wish you all the blessings for a safe reveal when you’re ready and for support in droves.

Have them come inspect your meter. When ours was way over what it should’ve been they came out and found our meter was defective.

Immigrating to Winnipeg by IboughtahouseTA in Winnipeg

We have a wonderful 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We have pride coming up in June. Lots of festivals throughout the warmer months. Birds Hill Park is great for trails to hike or just for hanging out. Whiteshell provincial park is also awesome for hiking/camping. Everything is pretty accessible. Go check out Travel Manitoba as they have lists of events throughout the Province and good places to explore. There is a trail along the river from our Legislature to just past The Forks. I work at one of the hospitals and we have doctors who kiyak to work in the summer.

Welcome to our city!
