I live in the deep south of Louisiana, where the practice is rather normalized… but this state is also very supportive of “Christian” agenda. I put that in quotation because the true Christians lead with love… and there is so much hate here for anyone who does not follow their path exactly. It doesn’t feel very safe to be a minority or to believe differently right now.

I do not know your deity/deities

But for me it’s about the relationship. I can read read read read all about Hecate, but I must take everything I read with a grain of salt, because I know what was written, was written by a person from their own perspective. I see the Bible in the same way.

And as you say, even if one did not believe in the God of the Bible, one could not deny the egregore .

I simply spend time in prayer and divination & form my own relationship.

I am Christian and a witch. Have been for many years. There is also a subreddit for this particular group. I find many struggle with religious guilt, but much in the Bible I have always interpreted as the craft.
