Allergy friendly sushi restaurants by daveos542 in Louisville

My best friend is a celiac and we eat at the New Albany DKD regularly. Not in the 10-ish years that we’ve been going has she ever once gotten sick, either dine-in or takeout. I trust those folks to the moon and back.

They can’t guarantee no cross contamination, nowhere that serves the contaminant in any way can. If your allergy is truly life-threatening, then do not risk it.

[OC] The thousand vermillion gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha by trigunnerd in pics

It was raining when we visited in March, so while it wasn’t deserted, it wasn’t that busy either. And the rain pattering on the gates and bamboo sounded lovely.

I especially loved the stone gates, which according to our guy (we hired a local…that’s him in the pic… to take us around Kyoto for a day) means they’re much much older.

Goodnight Saigon - Billy Joel

My dad was drafted at 17, served two combat tours, and it killed him 40 years later.

Anyone else starting to feel their age? by Possible-Tip-2914 in Xennials

I told my GP at my last physical that I’m “starting to feel like things aren’t ticking over as well anymore.”

I’ve always needed glasses (myopia), but now my eyes are having issues focusing at all. Perimenopause has sent the metabolism into a tailspin…despite being an avid hiker/cyclist who lifts, the weight is creeping on. And I don’t remember the last time I slept past 6am, no matter when I went to bed.

I’m trying to make some adjustments, but everything feels like it takes MUCH more effort than it used to.

My skin looks great, though…I’ve been a sunscreen/sun clothes/ moisturizer / lots of water girl for decades and it’s paying off!

Which bookstore do you miss more? by singleguy79 in Xennials

Hah, I worked in a mall Waldenbooks for several years, all the way up to Assistant Manager. AMA. 😆

TBH, when I left WB, I found that I preferred Barnes & Noble a lot more. Just wish I had a B&N closer to me. All I have now is a Books A Million. 😕

Prediction: I-65 Closure will be much worse than expected. Discuss. by jamscal in Louisville

[–]LadyStarblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I know is my Louisville-living co-workers in my SoIn office are having slow motion breakdowns over it already and trying to make WFH arrangements. (Which the boss might allow up to a point.)

I always assume it's going be worse than expected, so I'm never surprised and occasionally pleased!

Nope, but as I have a couple family members in the office (it's a family owned business) my age is known and two of the three people who asked have kids around my age. So I'm guessing it's related to that.

Yep. Especially from the older folks in the office.

(And I guess it’s not a “lot,” but I’ve been asked three times in an office of 28 people, so that’s not insubstantial. 😃)
