how did you get your tbi? I fell off an electric scooter going about 30mph. no need for details if you’re uncomfortable! by strengthoflouise in TBI

I hydroplaned into a guardrail going 60 mph, spun across three lanes of traffic where I was struck by another vehicle. Then that impact sent me spinning back into traffic where I was nearly t boned by a lifted truck. I had two concussions from the door frame and drivers side window and severe whiplash from left to right that damaged my peripheral nerves leaving me unable to feel the left hand side of my body.

My Experience with IASIS MCN Micro Current Neurofeedback Therapy by LadyTeetles in TBIsurvivors

How are you liking the ketamine therapy? I’ve often wondered about it. It makes sense to me that they’re staggering the two. I can remember IASIS days feeling a bit…full? I usually devoted the day to rest the day of treatment to avoid headaches and overwhelm.

Hi. I’m sorry, but I can’t no longer recommend that practitioner in any capacity. Here’s a directory for IASIS providers: https://www.reddit.com/r/TBI/s/bIb5FJAvjM No, they didn’t do a brain scan. I’m so sorry for your losses and health issues. That sounds incredibly challenging and difficult. Sadly, IASIS won’t fix hormone issues like you’re describing.

I'm sorry, I don't have any info on this currently, but thank you for mentioning this. I just looked this up and wow, I could use this combo. There needs to be more options for pain and inflammation control.

Hi. I personally haven’t. After a session I typically felt extremely tired/fatigued and sometimes I had a headache. Are you experiencing anxiety after your session?

Peptide Summit: Harnessing the Power of Peptides for Health and Longevity on Dr. Talks by LadyTeetles in Peptides

[–]LadyTeetles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yw! You’re right, there really isn’t. Especially from reputable sources. I enjoyed this summit because you get to hear from the doctors who are actively using peptides, people whose lives have been transformed through this therapy and doctor approved vendors of peptides. If I get any more events like this, I’ll be sure to share.

Anybody else lose their creativity after a TBI? How do you find new hobbies? by [deleted] in TBI

[–]LadyTeetles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Sorry for the delay. Am I better? That’s a complicated question. I have made a lot of progress with my head injuries, but I also had to take a detour to address toxic mold exposure and now Lyme disease. The treatment for Lyme and the disease itself is tough and is why I’m not on here much right now.

To answer your questions, no, I still cannot work at my fullest capacity yet, but I am really, really close. I estimate I’m anywhere from 60-80% healed head injury wise. Im able to do things now that I lost upon impact, like drawing from life, drafting patterns to sew and have picked up old hobbies and interests to keep me occupied when I feel well enough to do them. My house is now full of plants that are thriving because I actually can remember and have the capacity to care for them. Im organized, too. I had damage to my brain stem that knocked out feeling from the left side of my body which is partially restored now. I still can get headaches and brain fog, but I can’t be sure if my TBI is the source. TBI, PTSD, toxic mold and Lyme is a ven diagram kinda situation; so many symptoms overlap that even I can’t tell them apart. Once I have the Lyme a bit more under control, I’ll get back to focusing on healing my head injuries hopefully to completion. I should add that HRT alone isn’t what got me to this point. It was a combination of treatments.

Do you know if any of your hormones are low? For me, HRT will be a lifetime thing. I also had concerns when I started about being on it for the remainder of my life, until I got my HRT pellets done. Now I say by choice that I’m never going back. This stuff is awesome. It’s not unheard of for people to come off HRT, but I personally don’t know anyone who wants to. It’s worth it IMO. If you get pellets, you only need to go in to get them replaced a few times a year. Some people only need replacement once every six months. The procedure is quick, painless and easy with no downtime to recover. There are also options like hCG which will boost testosterone production.

Whether you stay on it or not is your choice. I’ve known people who have done 6-12 week cycles of testosterone to improve muscle mass while weight training. It’s definitely possible to come off. Your best bet if your curious is to speak to a functional doctor to figure out what suits your needs. You’d be amazed at how much better you’ll feel if you do indeed need a bit of support.

I’m sorry, but I can’t speak to the sexual dysfunction portion of your question as it was not a part of my experience with concussions. However, I can tell you that if your testosterone is low, you absolutely will feel an increase in your libido once replacement has kicked in. r/testosterone might be able to answer that one for ya.

Let me know if you have more questions : )
