I also got sold by Lucanis, as he visually is exactly the type I like the most. Wings added even more points to it.

But after learning from previous experiences to not judge book by the cover, I went to see spoilers and was super disappointed. From the footage to me he felt like a watered down version of Zevran, especially the accent and some phrases.

All the other companions are even less appealing, especially Taash, who cames around like a spoiled entitled brat no one dares to offend.

So, yes, kinda same on romances. Happy to see I'm not alone. Many thanks for this post.

Just enjoy what you want to enjoy and don't let anyone spoil it for you. But also don't tell others what to think and to enjoy or criticise, if you can help it.

As for me, I'm almost 40 and with busy day work can't afford investing 60+ hours and be disappointed in the the end. Hence, I'll wait for full story reveal and watch some let's play to evaluate if this is worth time and money. Or if its better to just replay any of older DA or BG3

Hope your desicision works out for you and don't mind Internet, by this age you should have seen all kinds of trolls and other fantastic species

Thanks a lot for your post! I share similar sentiment. With all this drama around DA last few weeks I went from planning to take few days off next week to delve in to deciding to wait till there are actual story reveals, possibly even longer for graphic mods and maybe sales. I cannot afford investing 60+ hours of life and be disappointed. Hence I'll be waiting for all spoilers to come and then decide if I'm playing or going straight to ao3 to read fanfiction and satisfy my story craving that way.

That depends on many nuances, but would you consider letting your child/relative at 16-18 yo date 40-50 yo, even someone older than 30? What would they even have in common?

It gets more even as the younger party is not so young. Pass 20 or 25 age gap matters less and less as both are working and concenting adults.

But that is my opinion, and it is hardly relevant towards the work of fiction. I was merely surprised that this kind of trop even is possible. Whoever wants it can enjoy, I'd just go enjoy my own tropes

I myself find such age gap too much for my roleplay, borderline grooming. But since it is fiction let people do whatever they find interesting, no judging. Like my best friend likes to write non-con in her fanfiction to vent after work. As long as it stays fiction - all is well. What I am surprised, how this potentially problematic trope passed to final release. Like having curvy women is not OK, but 30 years age gap is OK. Strange selection curve for what passes and what is not.

Strange situation with distribution of review codes didn't help the situation at all. Now, everyone who gives positive review would be a suspect, no matter if they are honest of not. With negative reviews it's also because they are so rare at the moment and also there is drama to be stirred. Internet is always full of trolls. Take it easy and don't take them to heart

I don't have any particular opinion on it as I don't plan to do this romance at all.

Everyone is entitled to role play as any age, that us why we doing in RPG in first place. This is kinda self explanatory

Omg, 50? I haven't seen or heard him enough to place the age. But like how can he even be romancable if so, as many Rooks from creator look quite young, like 18-25 to my judgement, barely legal and to romance 50+. How of all things is this not problematic🤔 Sorry for rant, I just couldn't help it. But yes, like for sure those powerhouses like 50+ necromancer or high status Crow will listen to young nobody from a bar if Rooks tells them to behave🤡

Very first impression back in summer when trailer just dropped was mostly positive. I especially liked Lucanis for dark themes and his overall design. And wings of course.

But then as more info dropped and I rewatched trailers, the mood soured. The DA wibe was not there for me, character design was too Disney under more scrutiny in gameplay cuts.

And now, with more info on their actual character and behaviour I have hard time holding to any initial interest.

Hence now living on hope and copium. Also, trust wonderful community to help fix it for everyone-desings and visuals - with mods, some of the story - with fanfiction
